Nothing against SE or TA, but i would stay clear of kingston as quality has declined. They used to have top reputation 5 years or so ago, but since then, we have seen micron, sandisk and samsung step up and deliver better quality products.

They tend to use now lower quality NAND than other brands

  • WHat is up with this aggressive deal counter posting

    • More bargains for the consumer :P

  • I wouldn't be buying flash storage right now unless you really need it, there is some great new tech coming out in the next 6 months.

    • +1

      which is what ?
Interested to know before I commit ….

    • Are you talking about xpoint?

    • "some great new tech"….L.. O.. L…and it will cost you 10 times as much when it comes out…

Sandisk Extreme 64GB microSDXC deal please (not Extreme Pro).

  • Are these as good quality as Sandisk. (Comparing same speed cards.)

  • Ta, just bought one. Bargain for non mission critical applications

  • KINGSARSE would have been a better voucher code. What a missed opportunity.

Bought the Kingston 64Gb card previously ..

For those interested in performance (with some files already on the card):

    Sequential Read : 42.963 MB/s
    Sequential Write : 13.620 MB/s
    Random Read 512KB : 38.136 MB/s
    Random Write 512KB : 0.870 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 5.049 MB/s [ 1232.6 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.439 MB/s [ 107.2 IOPS]
    Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 5.183 MB/s [ 1265.3 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.339 MB/s [ 82.9 IOPS]

    Test : 100 MB [I: 25.3% (14.8/58.4 GB)] (x1)
    Date : 2015/08/10 21:22:18

Really good price for plenty of storage space as long as you don't have hang ups on write speed.

For comparison- samsung EVO (orange version 64gb) which is usually just a few dollars more expensive when on sale (courtesy of PCBYTE)

    Sequential Read : 45.204 MB/s
    Sequential Write : 24.083 MB/s
    Random Read 512KB : 43.387 MB/s
    Random Write 512KB : 26.938 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 10.481 MB/s [ 2558.7 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 4.636 MB/s [ 1131.8 IOPS]
    Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 10.729 MB/s [ 2619.4 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 4.661 MB/s [ 1137.9 IOPS]

Noticed PCBYTE has the EVO+ 64Gb for 39.95 + Delivery which has a read rate of upto 80mb per second for those needing read speed (http://pcbyte.com.au/samsung-64gb-micro-sdxc-evo-plus-class-…) Maybe TA can get a deal on those (REDARSE? or ARSEPLUS?)

    • Thanks for your data! When did you bought your last Kingston?

So Shopping Express and Futu_Online are the same?

EDIT, well it appears they are.

Post in forum from people who have bought stolen iPhones from Futu/ SE

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/205809

Also, reviews about experiences shopping with SE:

    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/shopping-express.html

I too have had to deal with them in regards to faulty goods, disgusting attitude by their staff, took two months to get a refund. But they never seem to busy when having TA posting deals on their behalf here.

    Fake memory cards?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/180883

    • I didn't know about that, thou I don't read the forums, not enough time in the day.

Thanks for the heads up, WILL not buy anything more from Futu & SE.
I just hope I have no issues with my recent buying of a Sandisk 240 SSD.

    • I used to buy from se before .. Fast and memory card pretty good … And now I bought 2 more

  • +1

Bought!! — no worries, anything TA endorses, I buy…this will be the 9th unopened memory card that I have

    • Yep. Just pile them up next to the eneloops.

      • HAHAHA nah mate, I don't use eneloops, I use the DS/Bunnings (Varta) Alkalines

        • You are very brave to admit that on ozbargain. Lol

  • So does this work for my gopro hero 4?

    • I am sure people will correct me if i am wrong.
My understanding is that this will work fine in the gopro.
But, may be some lag in burst mode with a DSLR camera.

  • Just bought one of each ..

    $99

    Thank op

    JUSTARSE rock

  • Does anyone know if this will be good for recording 4k videos?

    Thanks!

    • It depends largely on the data rate that your 4K video is being recorded at.. Which 4K camera are you planning on using this in?

If you're thinking GH4 (which has 100mbit as the peak recording mode) 4K mode, it will probably be okay as the write rate is slightly above it but I wouldn't trust it and if you're looking at the 200mbit 1080P all-I GH4 recording mode then it will stop recording after a few seconds as the card won't be able to keep up.

Given this cards write speed I wouldn't recommended it for high resolution or high quality video and would say this card is more suited to still photography or AVCHD recording (your run of the mill mum and dad video camera) which tops out at around 24 to 28mbit if memory serves me right.

To be on the safe side the sandisk extreme cards are probably a safer bet when considering 4K recording..

      • Cheers

  • TA,
SE has a special on WD RED 4TB drive at $227.00 listed on their site.
    http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/wd-red-4tb-sata-3.5-in…

However on ebay they list the same for $255.00

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Western-Digital-Caviar-Red-4TB-NA…

Would you be able to negotiate with them to list the drive on ebay for the same price as in their website? Would be a great bargain for someone who has the ebay $50 voucher (like me :-) ).

    Cheers
