Telstra Wi-Fi dongle (30 days/1GB included) for $19,bought from Officeworks Bankstown, was $24.50 before, as well as $19.50 on sale, this is the cheapest price i have seen so far.

At $19 its a good deal, you can get data packs depending on your needs, i.e. 5GB/365 days for $50, which suits me fine, horses for courses really.
For City Slickers yes I agree but there are still millions of people in this huge country of ours who can't even get a decent 3G signal so hardware like this is still more than capable for many. Great find OP!

The Telstra 3G Wi-Fi MF65 would probably work but more than likely - iffy connection.

3G modem hardly seems worth it now unless they give you a good chunk of data with it.
