Plantronics C420 Professional USB Headset - 50% off - $39 + $9.95 Delivery @ Megabuy

42

Hi guys,

Managed to score some Plantronics C420 Professional USB headsets at a discount, so passing it on. Previously had them for over $100. A few people with stock left are still selling for around $90.

For anyone who doesn't know, Plantronics makes some of the best headsets. The comfort and sound quality are second to none. These are supposed to be designed for Lync / Skype / Skype for Business to be used in a call center environment around the clock so the sound quality and comfort are second to none. They are foldable and come with a pouch for transport. For anyone looking for a top quality USB headset, especially for using with Skype, etc, this is a good option.

  • I'm looking for a similar headset for my mobile phone; i.e. with a 3.5mm jack instead of USB, any suggestions anyone?

    • Are you sure - I would have thought the headset may have pulled at least a little current or had some intricacies in terms of wiring from usb to standard phone jack.

  • where were you 6 months ago, i would have bought 500 for work.

Avoid Avoid Avoid! Spend the extra $20 and buy from a reputable supplier. Wish I'd found this thread prior to ordering from these clowns.

    100% agree.
I finally got my refund and this is it. I would never order anything form them. And when I say I, it means me and extended family.

BTW, I'm also sharing this thread and my experience with everyone I know. Twitter, Facebook etc.. I believe it is our duty to warn everyone of this kind of companies.

Not everyone gets screwed by these guys but have a read of the reviews before parting with your money.

    • While I wont say you've not had issues, nor would I say that I personally trust the retailer of this deal, it might be worth considering a change of your vote to neutral. Certainly if your last purchase from these guys was awful, vote negative and provide a link, but if this post is simply a warning of their practices then your not meant to use a negative vote, only a neutral.

      • Thanks for taking the time to make your suggestion Ebany. Hope this clears things up for you.

        Voting Guidelines

        Negative Vote

        Purpose:

To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product.

There are ongoing major issues with this retailer (linked above).

Many OzBargainers have been burnt by these guys in the past (check comments in previous megabuy deals).

I won't buy from them again until I'm convinced that dodgy practices have ended so I can't give you recent first hand experience but from what I'm reading they're continuing to sell product which they incorrectly claim to hold in stock, communicate poorly with customers and hold payment for unreasonable periods of time for products they are unable to supply.

        • That link you've given applies specifically to a current deal your interested in (i.e. this one), not a previous purchase someone else made at some time in the past - e.g. You've ordered the above and then had major issues, maybe they changed the price, were out of stock, or the items haven't been sent after 3 weeks.

          No Vote:
If the deal doesn't apply to you, you don't like the company, or you want to leave a warning for people about the business or deal, you can leave a comment and then not vote.

This is the one which applies to your situation. Unless you intend to purchase the above product and then have problems, then you simply don't vote. We all understand the desire to punish a company who've taken us for a ride, or warn others off them, but you still can't stalk all their bargains with Neg votes. It undermines the system, it also damages the companies ability to improve.

If others wish to leave a warning, they should do so without leaving a vote. If people have an issue with this specific deal, they should leave the details and put up a Neg vote.

          Negative Vote
          Purpose:
To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product.

This deal, not previous deals or interactions, problems relating to this deal. If there were problems with another, link that deal.

        • Not trying to offend, nor am I trying to be anal about the voting, but as it happens every person I've introduced to this site has been scared off by the voting system. One good friend who I was attempting to convince should advertise their bargains here called it a "child's playground for those who can't Neg vote Facebook". Doesn't matter anyway, I'm extremely busy and have no intention of pressing the issue so will just leave it alone.

        • @Ebany:

I'm extremely busy and have no intention of pressing the issue so will just leave it alone.

Great. I can't quite get what point you're trying to make so you've made a good decision in not wasting any more time in your extremely busy day explaining it on this "child's playground"

Voting guidelines by their very nature are open to interpretation and yours differs from mine. If you've got an issue, report it to the mods. They're all very helpful and will remove my neg if necessary.

I believe there are major issues with this retailer and voted accordingly. The links in my original comment detail why.

        • @OzBragain:
          Nps.

  • WARNING:
I just received my headphones and am royally pissed! The actual headphones were just placed in the box separate to the bubble wrap, there were bits of dandruff on the headpiece and the cable ties holding the wires were all untied.

The only conclusion I can make is: SECOND HAND goods!!!

I can't call MegaBuy today, but they will get an earful on Monday unless the rep here will do something about it.

Would like to hear feedback from others who bought one, but I will keep everyone updated.

    • Hi thechung, our apologies, please lodge a return and we'll replace or refund at your choice. We purchased all the headsets as brand-new, so we're as surprised as you are that there was a second-hand one among them. I can only conclude that this is an RAed item that somehow ended up among new ones. We actually got about 10 for internal use as well and all of them were certainly brand new. In any case will get warehouse staff to check going forward as unfortunately the plantronics boxes that these come in aren't sealed. Will also take this up with the supplier.
