CoTD: Linksys Wireless Router W/ Gigabit Switch $125 Plus $8 Delivery

30

Checking StaticIce, the cheapest on there was $149 from QLD but then the next cheapest was $170. Mod edit - added price - thanks to Scubacoles

The model is WRT310N in case anyone was searching.

Reviews from CNET and other sites were highly recommended … the only "problem" is that you need to have a separate ADSL/Cable modem. However, it may not be a problem to some :)

      $125 + $8 delivery

  • Sorry … I'm only new to this whole posting bargains thing ..

Will keep it in mind for next time :)

  • For comparison, from Umart in Brisbane:
Linksys WRT320N Dual Band Wireless-N Router PreorderETA $138.00
    From http://umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&bid=2&i…

I am unsure what the difference is between the 320N and the 310N?

"I am unsure what the difference is between the 320N and the 310N?"

      Heaps.

      • The 320N has twice as much flash.(8mb compared to the 310N's 4mb)
      • It uses as different Broadcom chip, which has a faster processing speed.(354MHz compared to the 310N's 300MHz)
      • The 320N has dual band radio (2.4GHz and 5GHz), were as the 310N is 2.4GHz only.

IMO, WRT320N is a much better option, and is worth of the extra dosh.

      • If that's the case, what makes this a bargain! :|

  • can you use dd-wrt on this?

  • isn't wireless-N non-draft finalizing soon?

all the current wireless-N(802.11n) router on the market are Draft-N

    forget it

    waste of time

the wrt320n is a little bit more money and better and you can flash it to dd-wrt

    • But apparently cannot use 2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same time… which seems like a bit of a dumb limitation to me.

  • +1

    not really

i run 2 APs… one is 11g 2.4ghz, the other is 11n 5ghz… my fast 11n laptops are locked to the 11n AP, my phone and ipods and crap are all locked to the slow 11g AP…

  • Nothing special as you can spend less ($110-$130) and get a Netgear DGN2000 and have the modem as well.
If you want Gigabit, then D-Link have the DIR-655 for $155-$180.
