Hey guys,

Was at Costco today and saw MH4 for $30. Cheapest I've personally seen.

Enjoy.

  • Great price but not available in WA and doubt any retailers will price match.

Does it really matter if it's not available in the WA?

      • Only available in (civilized) Australia.

  • Are all their 3DS games at that price?

    • Not usually, but I didn't really look at the other games as this was the only one that stood out to me. From my picture there's the Pokemon drawing game for the same price.

    Such a good game. :)

That's like 1c per hour of play!

      LOL

    • you played it for 3000 hours? o.O

      • I may have exaggerated a little. 240 hours here.

        • 150 hear, such a good game.

  • I honestly didn't even know there was a Costco at Casula… This changed everything.

  • really cheap, even mh3u goes for about $40 on sale.

it's too bad i can't imagine playing without a 2nd thumbstick (still rocking a 2ds), and i would miss the big screen too much, i hope capcom goes back on their word and releases it on wii u.

    • Actually it's not bad on 2DS with the lower screen as a virtual DPad for screen control.

      • i have the demo (3u and 4), without the underwater bits the camera is less important but it just doesn't feel right!

        • +1

You get used to it. I feel the same when I go back to playing 3U on WiiU but after a while it feels right.

  • meeeeeehhhh, the last time I went out to Costco for a games deal (Elder Scrolls online) their system said they had 5 in stock and no one (including the assistant manager) could find one.

  • 500 hours+.
    Great game.
    waiting on mhx already.
    all the reason i bought a 3DS.

    • Same reason I bought a 3DS as well lol, if MH came out on PS4, I'll buy a PS4 immediately… the controller would be so much easier to handle then 3ds controls >_>

      • Nintendo seem to be the ones bringing it to the west, as capcom doesnt seem very interested, so I think its doubtful we will get a ps4 monster hunter game anytime soon.

        • True. The psv should be the one get it. I really wish no mh series will be realised any else platform rather than portable consoles.

      • You do know sony and Nintendo are rivals right?

        • +1

Really?! I always thought Monster hunter was owned by Capcom and the final decision to which console to bring it to is theirs….

          /s

          -EDIT-

I'm sorry for being a dick… it's just that Capcom still has the rights to the game… I'm just being optimistic about them bringing it back to PS…

        • @ProjectZero: I have a theory that Capcom purposely puts Monster Hunter on the least powerful console at the time so that they can dedicate more time to the monsters and sweet, sweet hitboxes. Compare MH4 and MH1 and the graphical differences are so negligable, but the games have grown up so much; a decade of real change of mechanical breakthroughs.

Can you imagine a PS4 or Xbone Monster Hunter? I could. It'd have fantastic graphics, 3 weapons and 6 monsters and sell for $99. Capcom have already sold off Resident Evil and Street Fighter to the highest bidder; I think fans should stop pushing for next gen Monster Hunter in case Capcom actually listen. At least wait until the platforms are viable and the industry has gotten over this adolescant phase of graphical fetish.

Case in point; Capcom puts monster Hunter on Nintendo consoles not due to any illicit dealings, but because that way they can make the game play the way fans like it….. But there are probably illicit dealings too!

@FrankMcFuzz: TBH, I'm actually hoping tencent games releases their MH online in the west…

What you said might be correct in thinking they are putting it on the least powerful console so that they can focus on other things but like making the game better. BUT not I dont think it would be dumbed down too much to lose it's edge in the monster hunting genre if it was brought to another platform. I've played toukiden and that's not that great… don't know what it is about it but doesn't feel as fun.

Also, I just found this and I kind of want that… childish graphics yes… but the guy is RIDING A RATHALOS!

        • @ProjectZero: That is one MINI Rathalos! Golden crown for minimum size, much? :O

  • Costco Docklands also has Pokemon Omega Ruby for $39 if anyone is interested, was still in stock on the weekend.

    • +1

Do you know if they have more cheap 3ds games at docklands like the $30 pokemon drawing game like in the pic? I'm thinking of getting a membership to Costco if they have enough games to justify the savings. Also do you know if they have any wii u games there?

      • I definitely remember seeing WiiU games, I don't own the console myself so I didn't pay attention to which ones in particular. They had about five or six different games on sale for each major console (PS3/PS3/Xbox/3DS etc…) plus the consoles themselves. The shelf in the image looks fairly similar to what I saw as far as 3DS games go. Hope that helps a bit, sorry I don't have more specific info though.

    • Does your comment indicate Docklands also has MH4 for the OP's price?

      • Uhh I can't remember honestly, they may?
