Guy Enters 1000 Competitions over 50 Days. Wins 4 Comps

There is a great Youtube Video documenting the process of a guy in England who set out to enter 1000 random competitions. He set a goal of entering 20 a day, for 50 days. The end result was 4 wins which is not a bad feat.

I guess the probability is fairly low if you just select 1000 random comps however looking at the wins on OzBargain and the AMA from multiple major comp winner maximum, there is a good chance of winning if you use the right strategies.

You can check how many comps you have entered & won by going to My Account-Lists-Competition. I've entered 948 comps with 20 wins..a lot better than Andrew did in the video. What's your win record?

    On OzB: 120 entered 4 wins (2 Coles).

    Outside of here, when I was about 5 years old I won a jar of jelly beans for guessing how many were in there, was about 483 or something (long time ago).

    More recently, I won a Nexus 7 (2013 model) in Nov 2013 as part of the Nestle Android Kit-Kat promo and have gotten great use out of it.

    Is it common for some people to enter multiple email in same competition? Would that increase your chance?

      Depends, if the T&C's state "one per household" and you get caught doing multiple, after winning, is it really worth it?

      Depends on the Competition. I know some people do it, but a lot of programs logging the competition entries have bots to pick up the same name or address. If they suspect anything dodgy then you're automatically disqualified, but it depends.

    Total: 722 entries, 10 wins from OZB. Most of them are easy to win.
    1 win from Student Edge for the one-and-only 25-word-or-less comp ever in my life.

    When I was a kid, I won numerous prizes for both chance-based and skill-based comps back in my home country. TO me, getting older means getting dumber and unluckier. Sic!

    Roughly 1 in 60 I win a minor prize or better.

    Atleast once a year I find the crazy comps like cokes colouryoursummer or other instant win comps where you do insanely well due to lack of promotion etc and that one promos prizes are a few grand in value.

    I've posted nearly 200 comps here and entered another 200, and haven't won a thing.

    I don't count the Schweppes thong comp as that was just like shooting fish in a barrel.
