44x Fujitsu AA (Double A) Batteries $5.39 (Click & Collect) @ Dick Smith

2270

Hi guys,

My apple keyboard and mouse is just chewing through my batteries so I just had a look on DSE.com.au this morning. No idea if this is a good deal - it seems pretty good though. Could only order a maximum of 19 x 4pk. They're probably fairly average batteries but I know batteries can be expensive.

Update 3 August 9:11am: The DSE site is now limiting to max 11 packs.

Nice. If I didn't have so many bloody Eneloops I'd buy them.

    AAA's also 49cents http://www.dicksmith.com.au/batteries/fujitsu-alkaline-batte…

    • +1

I bought some at that price last week. The website would not let me order more than 6 packs. When we collected, we saw a 2-pack of AAA for $6.98!

  • Thanks, just ordered some,

    Kids xbone controllers chew these

    • +8

Might I suggest getting some eneloops they'll last the life of the console and mean 1,000 dry cells don't end up in landfill over that time.
Seriously, they're also a better financial choice, or you could buy charge n play kits for them if you want simplicity and the kids not bugging you about flat batteries.

      • +1

Or recycle them in one of the bins they have at Aldi.

        • +2

yeah I always forget the old ones at home when I drop into Aldi.
Either way, it's still more expensive and wasteful to use dry cells where eneloops will do

      • +2

        You can recycle batteries at…
        -Aldi
        -Battery World
        -Your local library

It's all about how you deal with your waste as a consumer!

  • 11 is the maximum quantity you can order.

    • Just wanted to let you know that for the Fujitsu Alkaline Battery AA 4pk the quantity selected exceeds the maximum shipping weight allowed for this item. The maximum quantity allowed in a single order for this item is 11 units. Please lower the quantity you are purchasing in this order or alternately place multiple orders for this item for the desired total quantity

At least you place multiple orders!

      • For which they will charge multiple delivey fees and ship in the same box…he he

      • I just placed a click and collect order for 11xAA's & 11xAAA's in the one order, is the limit only on shipped orders? If so the posted deal was for click and collect.

        • Now there's a point ;)

  • +1

What's the expiry dates?? That may be the reason why it's cheap.

    • +3

Personally I don't care. My Xbox One drains batteries like there's no tomorrow. A shitty hardware design to use that much bloody battery power. And that's just from casual Netflix viewing.

    • +2

The AAA I bought last week expire July 2019.

Apple Keyboards/Mice are the worst, chew through batteries like crazy

    • +2

I swap my eneloops in my Mac keyboard/mouse every 6 months?

      • I swap mine every 2-3 months but my iMac is on 24/7 and sleeping where the mouse and Keyboard are on too

  • Starting to get over having el cheapo batteries, wanting to migrate to eneloops but too many different devices and not enough loops.

  • i managed to order 30 packs on one order, it must depend on which shop you select.

    • +1

I suspect the OP posted it at 19 packs Click and collect, some have then tried it with shipping and quantity is limited due to weight.

      • Yes we wouldn't want their fragile staff lifting more than 10KG's now would we?

  • +1

I have ordered 50 packs on one order. You can increase your quantity in the shopping cart for local pick up.
11 packs max are for delivery.

    • lol, how do you use them??

  • I use these for things that won't work with rechargeables, but for everything that does, you'd have to be mad not to use them. The cost and waste with alkalines sucks.

  • Thanks OP. Was able to order 20 packs from my local shop.

  • Wasn't greedy: ordered 10.
    This is the new eneloop.

    • +2

      eneloops still more economical :D

      • bought the AAA since my eneloops are AA only :(

just a quick note from an ex-batteryworld employee.
if you can find Alkaline AA batteries for less then $1 per cell, thats usually a pretty good price.
but a good way to tell whether or not they are any good (capacity wise) is how heavy they are.
i know the duracell and energizer industrial grade alkalines have among the highest capacity for alkaline AA.
if you can get your hand on one and use it as a comparison, its not a bad idea.
although at $6 for 44 alkaline batteries, you really cant complain.
    good find OP.

    • +1

that was true about 10 years ago. These days, Duracell and Energizer are middle of the road at best. They raped the world for decades. It's time to move on.

BTW, did they teach you cowboys guys to read a data sheet? That is the best guide.

Lol - at using your hands as a meter! Yeahhhh… she's a good one!

      • +1

Actually i found a data test sheet yesterday which showed the duracell procell still held it with the best of them.
By recommendation on using your hands to weigh is a rough measurement. Because a)to find out real capacity while you are shopping, you would have to drain a battery flat
        Or
        B) walk into shops carrying a set of scales.

Im just trying to be helpful. No need to be like that.

  • it doest show option for click n collect

    only for delivery

cud anybdy letme knw hw can v find click n collect
    thx

    • +1

It should be there, I just bought 1min ago…

      • yes worked now when i clicked full website as ordering from mobile

  • Will they actually honour this? Will they give you dirty looks when you pick up?

    • +2

Good chance they won't care. Never met a Dick Smith employee that gave a **** about anything…

      • +2

Yep. The employee that served me got me to collect the batteries and bring them to the counter for them. Great service Dick.

  • Managed to order 20 packs. Noticed some stores are already out of stock for click n collect.

  • cheers for the heads up, always handy to have around

  • These batteries any good or will they just leak and kill my stuff

    • +3

any batteries leak if you leave them in a device unused for a long period of time.

      • +1

        not Eneloops

  • -2

What the flip are youse gon do with all these batteries? Price is good but with eneloops youse prob don need?

  • If only the D batteries were on sale

  • only letting me order 3 :(

  • FYI they normally sell for only 99 cents. So dont impulse buy like me. Now I have a bag of 88 batteries I have no use for.

  • Hardly any click n collect in perth. 10 dollar delivery fee, unfortunately no point stacking up if a better deal may pop up somewhere.

How do these fujitsus rank compared to the battery power.of say the Eveready, duracells etc

  • +1

Price for these have gone back up to $6 ~ I picked my order up today and the guy was like was your order for a f*** load of batteries? I was like Nope.. I could only order 3.. He was telling me how he was amazed how many click and collect orders they had for these bloody batteries haha.. Good work all, this guy was pretty lay back I mean who swears at customers? not towards me but in terms of general talk..

Not totally professional but I didn't really care.. I got my batteries and I'm happy :) Will go with xmas toys hand in hand!

    • Are you sure they are $6? When I was there I saw a normal price tag that said 99 cents. It wasn't on special or anything.

      • Website is showing price now $6.98 each, unsure will have to just keep checking the product page to see if it fluctuates

    • changed to $2 now.. "JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON SALE! TODAY ONLY!
      Online Exclusive Offer
      Offer ends today!"

  • Anyone else get a cancelled order?
