Not brodening as he didn't buy it to sell for profit, he just got it for his family
Broden did it for charity
Or clean-out entire stock, shafting all others.
Haha wow just saw the post, ozbargain's new most hated, Broden?
@strikerzebra: ozbargain's new most hated - That BRODEN is the ORIGINAL BRODEN.
Where have I been..
Dadddddddddd,
Can I have a bit more variety for lunch pwease?
No
Son, we just gave you a new flavour of tuna 2 years ago. Now go to your room before Daddy loses his shit.
Can't. stop. laughing….
:)
I don't mind you guys laughing at me. It is that you don't know the story: I got 3 school aged children. They want tuna with crackers. They used to buy fast food at the canteen but they kept getting fatter. We asked them to try tuna. They got hooked. We are of Vietnamese background, and our children cannot fall in love with Australian fast food on a daily basis. Tuna does save them from the statistic (of being overweighted)
@hluu0111:
I was NOT laughing at you. Just at the comment above mine.
As for what other people think… screw them. You do, what you have to do. :)
These are probably the same people who bought 10 million rolls of toilet paper when they were cheap on a previous deal. ;)
Just so there isn't more confusion: I know "Son" is a semi-common Viet guy name, but here it was reference to a child. (and a joke) (not necessarily a Viet child) lol
Don't worry, I eat 2 cans of tuna every day at work and have for the past few yrs, nearly a fool proof way to not get fat
I'm not having a laugh. I just went picked up 30 cans of the sweet corn and Mayo ones. They are the best ones. :p
*edit: and I'm not letting my kids near any of it. :p
Just got over 70 of them an hour ago for the kids to go to school.
Mine just catch the bus.
Sometimes Coles sells one pack of four(Olive oil or Chilli) for $3.
Probably why they've been so cheap Link.
Possibly true but Daily Telegraph is just about as realiable source as TodayTonight.
Note that they say "our team were not allowed in to check out the conditions" then followed through to write a whole article saying how dirty Thailand is.
Both those publications know their audience well, and know they aren't burdened by facts.
Doesn't even effect John West, even if it was true; the same audience that is hysterical, and share those shock-articles on facebook, will also forget 5 minutes later, and buy the same pretty tuna cans in their local supermarket.
Just beware of mercury poisoning, don't have it every day!
You can have it every day, just not have a few cans every day.
FYI 98% of tuna you purchase in Australia is product of Thailand including Sirena Tuna, Ocean Delight Tuna, Safcol n many others not saying it's good just not many people realize this.
Was told john west do not farm their tuna via sustainable methods

By who?
The link you provided didn't say so.
nice flavour choice op
Poor tuna must be asking how they're worth so little dying to feed humans..
Poor human slaves on board the Thai fishing ships must also be asking how they're worth so little dying to catch the poor tuna.
Pity both my local coles and woolies seem to think that stocking 1 box of mango chill is good enough for a week, $1 sales suck towards tuesday since its all gone. Shall go in tomorrow
what is mango chill?
Up there with Vegemite chocolate on the list of stupid ideas.
Adding some flavour to a sandwich or small bowl of pasta is stupid?
@nephilim:
nope but the combo of chilli and mango is.
I noticed from online forums and reports that woolworths is throwing away vast amounts of food. On top of this they are 'locking' their bins to prevent access to edible food. Tonight I checked this out and yes, 2 rather large locked bins. Tuna is probably included in the equation, what a mad world we live in!
Woolworths is actually a major supporter of Ozharvest (a food charity that redistributes food to people in need).
According to this article, "Woolworths has a policy of moving to zero food waste to landfill by the end of this year" (http://www.foodmag.com.au/News/Woolworths-moves-towards-zero…)
Hi Jenki
Thank you for the information. I wonder if you have any further information on the subject of supermarkets wasting food?
As a household having zero food waste would be almost impossible, I just wonder how a supermarket would achieve this?
I'm aware of the ozharvest, in fact I visited them last week as they promoted their excellent work. I'm also aware of the French 'connection' and many others.
After looking into it more, Woolworths qualify their goal by saying "zero food waste in the general waste stream by 2015 where composting facilities are available".

Also this is interesting from the EPA:

To be honest I don't know much about this subject, so it's interesting to look into it a bit.
I have looked but can't seem to find a breakdown of how many tonnes of food woolworths throws in the bin. I'll contact them directly and post the results, thanks!
Is this chicken or fish?
It's beef
Yeah,
Just got over 70 of them an hour ago for the kids to go to school.
Got heaps of them 2 weeks ago @ $1 each. I feel stupid now that it goes down to $0.89 each.
