Windows 10 Free Right Now - Skip Waiting with This Legit Backdoor

Moved to Forum: Original Link

This is your chance to bug test for Micro$oft and experience the new easter egg which is Windows 10 new blue screen of death.

Microsoft’s gradual rollout of Windows 10 might mean you’re still waiting your turn to get your free upgrade—but you don’t actually have to be patient. You can skip the line (and escape automatic download woes) and cut straight to the good stuff.

How? By getting Windows 10 through the Media Creation Tool, which you can download from Microsoft’s website. It’s completely legal and legitimate, and doesn’t take much time at all. It also works whether you’ve already reserved a copy of Windows 10 or not.

You may only use these ROMs if you are legally entitled
to do so. You are may use them if you own the original
cartridge, arcade machine, or similar media. Otherwise,
you may evaluate them for 24 hours, and after such time
you must delete them from your computer.

          http://forum.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?30110-The-q…

is there a 24-hour rule under the copyright law that allows a user to download a program and use it for 24 hours to determine if they want to continue using it - and then after the 24-hour period they have to delete it or buy it?
No. The 24-hour rule is an urban legend created and circulated to justify violations of copyright law on the Internet. Under copyright law, "[a]nyone who violates any of the exclusive rights of the copyright owner [reproduction, adaptation, distribution to the public, public performance, public display, rental for commercial advantage or importation] is an infringer of the copyright or the right of the author…" Section 501(a) of the Copyright Act. Infringement may occur by downloading software, uploading software, making software available for download, and transmitting software files. Whenever the distribution of a computer program occurs without the consent of the software publisher, it is a direct infringement of the copyright law. The unauthorized reproduction or distribution of a program, even for only 24 hours, is illegal. The amount of time is not an exempting factor.

I would like to defend this in court
Many people have illegally ripped a cd to an iPod in the years before it was legal and have recorded tv shows and even the kids of Warner music were/are doing this. It's a real beat up. Piracy is like taking a photo - nothing is stolen and nothing is missing. Some people can't afford much.

Both views? One site has it's own 'law'. The international law you claimed that allows users to use the product for 24 hours was completely wrong. An international law is completely different to a specific websites policies.

feels like i am up against primary school debate team

Perhaps you should word your points so they don't come across as primary school debate material.

If you want to point out that laws can be immoral (and for pity sake use the word immoral not "dead wrong"…dead wrong by what standard?) you don't need to jump straight to the WWII Nazis for an analogy. You certainly don't need to word it so it comically suggests your point is that I should go resurrect the Furher from the grave and a few of his henchmen so I can ask a question. It's ironic to me that you should complain about primary school debating tactics and poor arguments when stating things so immaturely.

By the way I agree with you that laws can be immoral. You just made it so poorly that you exposed yourself to ridicule.

I definitely DON'T agree with you that piracy is either moral or legal on the proviso that you delete software in 24 hours. That arbitrary timeframe makes no sense in terms of natural law or usefulness. I'm not sure where you even go the idea that 24 hours is sufficient or reasonable time to test a product. Nevermind the idiocy of wasting bandwidth on garbage just to delete it a day later. You haven't made a good argument for this at all. In fact I'd go as far as saying you haven't made one.

        • -1

          @syousef:

the 24 hrs was a joke that was taken seriously
my whole primary school point was that my detractors were making points against me by calling me names
morality is either defined by man, God or govt so I don't know why you class things immoral

          My points are

most people are pirates/have pirated so why act holy and accuse me of condoning piracy

people complaining about other people downloading while at the same time they condone and even pay to kill babies is sick but many support murder. it's like you yelling at me for throwing a cigarette butt on street while you ignore someone bashing a child except this example being less extreme.

everyone in au with a ipod for years was illegally ripping cds so my point was that piracy was the only option there

also I made a point about poor people using pirated software to make a living in some cases

so now why is it you can't see any points I made earlier?

If I called you a loser that's the kind of responses I was complaining about and I hesitate to use
you call my argument primary school and still couldn't make out any points……..

if you didn't get it my point is I don't like being lectured by people who usually support baby murder and pirate themselves or love someone who does and that's the vast majority of people

        • +1

          @thelastnoob:

First 24 hours didn't come across as a joke.

Second, I can see your points and I also happen to think copyright law is broken. I have a problem with the creator/distributor setting whatever price they want. I also have a problem with the control of use being tied to right to profit.

Third, the argument that poor people pirate to make a living is a slippery slope. It doesn't excuse that they take away potential revenue. There are also people who smuggle drugs, murder, traffic children as sex slaves because they are poor. None of these things can be condoned.

Fourth, that their are worse crimes does not mean that lesser crimes should be ignored. That too is a slippery slope. How would you like to be beaten and robbed only to be told by police "sorry we have MURDER happening and that's much worse so we can't spend any time on you being beaten up, go away".

Your arguments are not very well thought out. Nonetheless I was poking fun at you to point out the absurdity of your arguments, not trying to bully you. You are entitled to your opinion but it is unfortunate that you can't see that you've set yourself up as a target in this discussion. If you're going to advocate for copyright reform you're going to have to be much smarter about it unless your purpose is to make the whole endevour seem ridiculous, impractical and childish.

        • -1

          @syousef:
Actually I prefer a priority based law and order system. I never intended this to be a piracy/hitler/abortion rant
My bottom line was summed up in my last paragraph in my comment above
Basically the law is the main killer of humans
Americans murder more of their own babies than 911 each day
Same situation here with aussies murdering more aussies than ISIS etc
The law allows this so I have no respect or time over petty piracy claims
This is my real point and why I have no care for these laws in this regard

My arguments, grammar, style maybe its all childish and immature but at least I understand abortion kills a human when millions don't

Please understand my point is abortion related and piracy is the scapegoat

Oh and plenty of pirates suffer more jail time than child rapists etc
and I am certain you have been involved in piracy and you love many people who do it

        • +1

          @thelastnoob:

You can disagree with them, but you don't get to just follow laws you agree with. And you don't get to decide on everyone's behalf what is right and wrong. You're part of a society and it decides what the law is and which get most strictly enforced.

        • -2

          @syousef:
Actually I can just follow laws I agree with and they can impose whatever they impose in times of conflict. I know I don't get to decide what is right and wrong and therefore people shouldn't decide piracy is wrong or right as well. Society doesn't matter if society is mentally sick and it is rightfully insane. Society sticks together throughout its constant evil deeds.

Your statements I believe they contradict inasmuch as you say what I can and can't do

          "you can disagree with them"
"you don't get to just follow laws you agree with"
"you don't decide what is right and wrong"

Isn't the origin of this argument when I was asked if I condone piracy?
Haven't people here decided what is wrong etc…

I hope you see the point I am trying to make especially since you have higher education than me

Don't give me a point about piracy being illegal unless you can show why murder is lawfully lawful here when it applies to weak unborn babies/fetus whatever you want to label them
My point is don't worry about small things like someone not putting milk bottle into recycling bin or Joe Blow downloading a rom of Mario Karts but worry about the baby murderers and those in society as a whole who condone it and child rapists having free roam over our world

Go and look at a photo of a dude who has just downloaded a song off the internet and then
compare that to photos of abortedmutilated babies corpses and then come back here and give me a lecture about piracy

In victoria it is legal to brutally murder a baby up to 40 weeks
These guys murder babies to coverup paedophiles babies when they rape children they have access to
and the abortion provider covers it up
the no 1 serial killer is an abortion doctor in america named Kermit Gosnell
Many of these killers will execute babies post birth as well
and they also sell the babies organs for experiments
society is sick and evil you don't need to lecture me about society

oh boy this is so off topic my head is spinning

anyway i would say they owe us money for data mining and spying on us all for profit and power

How many times do I have to tell you that you can't pick and choose which laws you want to obey just because you don't agree with abortion laws? "Piracy" has nothing to do with abortion. You are confused about how the law works. Society breaks down if everyone ignores all laws because they don't agree with some small set of them. That will lead to anarchy and the law of the jungle.

        • +1

          @thelastnoob: Here's a good analogy for you.

Piracy is like going to a nature reserve without paying the fee. In WA, to enter some reserves, you need to pay $12. They're usually unmanned and have a box with an envelop ready for your cash.

Do you put the money in the box, or do you visit the reserve without paying the fee?

anyone has any idea how to get win10 upgrade for unisurf 7" 16gb tablet?

    • How much free space do you have? If it keeps getting to the same percentage before it fails you probably don't have enough storage space left, which is quite likely considering that you have a 16gb tablet.

    • +2

Windows 10 is basically already in that state because of a massive public beta. I've been running the beta for ages, and updated on day one, and I can say that even the preview versions were some of the most stable OS's I've ever used.

      • What OSes have you used? Have you used only Windows?

        • Windows, Mac OSX, Ubuntu and Linux Mint. Also mobile OS's and XBMC OS on a Raspberry pi.

        • @spartan17: You might have been incredibly lucky then with Windows. Windows cannot possibly be more stable than Mac OSX just because of "limited hardware". I have had barely any problems using Ubuntu, certainly not as many as running Windows. I have not used Win 10 but common…. the next thing you will say is that you do not need an antivirus….

        • @mihai.petrescu:

Windows cannot possibly be more stable than Mac OSX just because of "limited hardware".

Somehow it kinda is, even on a macbook.

        • @ozhunter: maybe we have different definitions of stable…

Also I wonder how the hell did I get into a debate if Windows is stable or not… it slows down during the same day… to fix a problem with it usually involves restarting the PC… after several months I feel like "format c:" and installing a real OS…

I know I know…. "win 10 best windows more stable than Linux…." just look at the problems on this page….

Now go and install an antivirus so you can have your entire system slowed down. And remember to reboot…..

        • @mihai.petrescu:

I was walking about Windows 8.1 and most of the problems that people are having with Windows 10 is actually getting to install.

I'm using Windows 10 now and it is a bit buggy, as was Yosemite.

Even with an antivirus, imo Windows 10 is still much faster than OSX has ever been.

        • @ozhunter: sorry I snapped, I was mad at myself for getting dragged in a internet discussion on silly subjects by comments "the most stable OS's I've ever used". I cannot comment on OSX, never used it more than 6 weeks but it still looked like a real OS.

  • +1

If you go to this link and follow through, don't be tempted to download a copy of the Win 10 installer and do a clean install. If your machine (win 7, 8, 8.1) qualifies for the free upgrade then before starting the win 10 upgrade it must be activated. Then do the upgrade and wait until the upgrade has activated. This is essential. After this you can do as many clean installs as you want.

It is important to note that you don't get a Win 10 activation key and your machine is now the active registered item NOT your copy of Windows even if you upgraded from a retail copy.

When your machine dies then you no longer have an entitlement to a free Win 10.

  • Installed fine on a Dell Vostro Windows 7.

Had a Microsoft "tech" take over the machine (yes a real one through the chat function in the official Microsoft web site), go through and not get anywhere either.

    Already over it I think……

The reason I haven't updated my Win 7 Acer is because the Insyde BIOS locks it to the HDD and OEM O/S.

I expect a similar failure to yours if I dare try upgrading.

    • I had this error too a few times I tried, I eventually selected save my files only and not the programs.

Seems to me that there could've been a program from Win 7 that the reserve program didn't pick up on. Could be another reason not to jump the queue.

It's all good, Win 10 is up and running and didn't take very long to re setup a few programs.

    There's a backdoor in Windows 10?

Guess I'll stick with Windows 7 then!

    • You won't be alone.

yep enough reason to stick with windows 3.11

    Image your pc before upgrade

  • Didn't work for me so I'm using the cmd terminal method…

I'm not completely stupid. I'm installing it on an old tablet that needs a clean install anyway.

  • It asks for a Product Key on my HP250 laptop with Win 8.1.

The laptop does not come with a Windows CD or DVD, and it won't accept the serial number that Speccy finds for me.

I reckon that is because I downloaded the ISO file.

I tried to upgrade, and received a "Something Happened" error.

      • Have you been given the Windows icon in the taskbar? That means you can update using the streaming method. Not everyone got the icon straight away as MS were rolling out the update in waves to reduce impact on the servers.

        • Thanks.

I have the icon on my tower (Win 7), but not on my laptop (Win 8.1).

Windows 10: Here are the privacy issues you should know about

Aside from that I can say Win 10 is much faster and cleaner than previous OS

Tried win 10. Made my computer quick a lot slower. I don't like it. Going back to 8.1.

    • are you running ssd? how much ram?
edge can be a memory hog and 64 bit chrome won't close extensions when you exit
      waterfox 64bit is good

      • It's most likely drivers if you have adequate performance for previous OS.

  • whats wrong with windows 3.1 ? Do i need to upgrade?

    • If you have no issues with Windows 3.1 for your usage, then you would be stupid to go through the pain of an upgrade to Windows 10.

Just imagine how difficult it would be to get Leisure Suit Larry to work again after an upgrade of DOS/Windows!

      • I know right! Who wants to only boot into windows anyway, I much prefer quick menu…

Oh LSL… What a great series. I emailed Al the other day, He still cant make any more due to licencing issues… Such a shame they just where not the same after he wasnt involved…

Just installed on my 5 year old Asus laptop. Seems to work fine better than 8.1 for sure. That metro UI and the chimes search really killed it for me. Looks like they are heading the right way but for desktops I don't see much advantage over 7, except it loads bit faster

Especially old laptops have driver issues. My webcam and USB 3 no longer works there are no drivers that will work as its out of date model manufacturer doesn't provide updates

Not sure why they got rid of the windows key + tab slides graphic I thought that was awesome in 7

Huge advantage over 7. WIndows 7 is absolute trash dude. I don't understand why people still like Windows 7. Windows 8.1 is far superior in every way possible. Those Microsoft software engineers don't just sit around and do nothing. They put in so much work for 8.1.

        superiour in every way possible.

Windows 8.1 is like a horrible buggy half baked skin for windows 7.

Clunky and counterintuitive jumping between the two any time you go to the control panel is my main irritation. But there are plenty more issues.

Windows 10 looks, so far, like a proper implementation.

    • Win 10 does have a tablet mode.

      • Yes and it is easily toggled on and off
