Krug NV Champagne - the finest Non-Vintage Champagne
Dan Murphy's - $299
Huon Hooke - 97 Points - Medium to full yellow colour, bright and fresh. Very toasty, bready complexity, nice developed bouquet, lots of biscuity and balsamic barrel ferment and pinoid development. Lots of barrel developed complexities. Very mellow, mature and complex. Good length and satisfying aftertaste. Excellent softness and the middle-palate is very rewarding.
James Halliday - 98 Points - It is composed of 134 parcels from 12 vintages spread between 1990 and 2005, 44% pinot noir, 37% chardonnay and 19% pinot meunier the last always part of Krug, whether NV or vintage. Sheer, absolute perfection, elegance and complexity equally important, flavours ranging from white fruits to nougat cream, exotic spices, toast and brioche. It is the very essence of Champagne, its greatest non-vintage wine.
Great deal, assuming it has been transported and stored correctly!
Never seen Krug this cheap. Without doubt the best NV and easily better than most Vintage too!
Found it for $220 here:
