    • Delete? Why? It's been marked expired.

edit: Oh. Were you referring to your comment?

      • Sorry yeah, referring to my comment.

I was having trouble transferring funds into my ME account from my NAB account. Turns out I can't transfer from my NAB savings to another bank, I had to transfer from my NAB savings to my NAB everyday account before I could transfer funds to my ME everyday account.

        • Oh yea that's normal. I don't think you can usually transfer directly out of any online savings accounts.

        • @illumination:
UBank lets you but in that case the savings account was around before the transaction account.

        • @silent1: I thought of that, but yea exactly as you said! Their savings accounts used to be their only account in existence.

  • So far quite impressed with their transfer time - transferred from ING Direct at 4.30PM WST and Received it in new ME Bank account between 8PM and 9PM WST

  • Any way to know via the internet banking page whether you're currently getting the 5% cashback or not? (eg. ING shows a green gift box)

    • Unfortunately not. You can message them though and they'll tell you when exactly it'll expire. Although it's not hard to work out 6 months after your account is opened.

  • So we should all start getting our cashbacks tomorrow afternoon?

  • Did you get your cashback on Friday 14/08/2015?
    I didn't get it…

    • I didn't get it either, though I got the cashback last Friday…

      • Mine is showing for Friday now - 5% of first transaction (which itself was on 9/8/15) so all good so far. Next two transactions over $10 were after 14/8 so hopefully they'll trigger the $50 next week.

        • +1

Yep I got my cashback today too + the $50 which is good

        • +1

Same here, couldn't see it yesterday, but today shows up back-dated to Friday

  • How long does the 5% cashback usually takes to come through?

    • So far it posted within a few days for me, although I see up to 30 days are allowed in the T&Cs. Other posters on here seem to indicate a Friday posting to the account normally?

  • +1

Yeah just got the $50, it says $50 credit FB offer. Haven't got my paypass 5% cashbacks yet, may have to wait till Friday like everyone has mentioned.

  • +1

Just checked, received $50 and cash back today

    • Ditto. Likewise here. Just got $50 plus the bonus cashback.

  • Man, I've only just got my account setup. Being from NZ, I had to prove who I was at Australia Post, and then a week later they still hadn't received my details from them. Finally I got my card, so I've still got a few days to make three spend-ups to get the $50 cashback.

    • Okay, I think something has gone wrong. So far I've made six paypass transactions since I opened the account on 28th July, but I've never received the 5% cashback on those purchases. Perhaps, since Australia Post took so long, I was excluded from the deal??? I'll have to give them a call. :(

Is anyone else on the same boat? I've met all the rquirements, spend 3 $10+ payless transactions within the first 2 days etc but still haven't received my $50 bonus. Have received my cashbacks though, will give them a call next month anyhow.

    • +1

Haven't got my 50 or cashback, let me know the outcome from your call.

      • Okay sorry here's an update from me. I've finally called them on Friday 4th September. Unlike others here, I got my ID verified successfully using their online verification system.

The guy on the phone said everything I did should be qualified for the $50 but he is not really in charge of that and have to pass it on to their "marketing department" and will then give me a call on upcoming Monday or Tuesday latest to let me know of outcome. It is Thursday now and still no call or $50. ZZZ

  • I didn't get my $50 either (despite having spent more than $10 in 3 separate paypass transactions).

    • i called them today and they said my account was opened later than 30th of July (I applied on the 28th but they required verification and delayed me till 6th of aug) so i lost the $50 and the %5 wow !

but they didn't care to inform me about these details one bit, will close my account now, never again trust ME bank.

      • Yep, I just got the same message about the 5% cashback. It had to be opened before 30th July. I'm pretty sure you just had to apply for the account on 28th, not have it opened, for the $50 bonus. When I got a phone call from ME Bank about having to take my drivers licence to Australia Post (my uploaded copy not being enough for some reason), she told me that I still had ten days to open it. Since I took it to Australia Post the next day, any delay was down to Australia Post, not me. I have asked them about the $50, so I'm still hoping it's due. Also, they did say that any ATM fees are refunded for the life of the account, so that's a bonus if nothing else.

Got my reply. We were given 10 days to have the account finalised and opened (up to 7th August). I took my form into Australia Post on Friday 31st July to provide my identification, but "apparently" it took them 14 days to forward it to ME Bank, so my account wasn't opened until 13th August, so I'm not eligible for the $50 either (nor the cashback).

This is my judgement: Australia Post would NOT have taken 2 weeks to forward the ID verification. I'd have accepted it if they had lost it altogether, but not to have delayed delivery for two weeks. It is my opinion that ME Bank simply sat on the application until the 10 days had elapsed. I suspect that they did this because they had too many applications. It was suspicious when they asked me to take my ID to Australia Post in the first place, given that I uploaded the same ID on the day I applied, and they didn't accept it then. My recommendation is that this is a dodgy deal from a dodgy company.

Here is where I stand: I will put $100 in this account for emergency use only. I will use it whenever I run out of cash at a club or bar that only takes cash, and use it at the Cash Card ATM to withdraw the funds. That way I will be using the bank purely as a way to recoup the ATM fees, and for no other reason. I consider this karma for their deceitfulness.

@divergent: agreed with you however i closed my account and ING deserve my business in this case because they don't have atm fees either.

    • ME Bank has abysmal customer service and the worse website.

      1. Website - Made with MS Word HTML 1.0
      2. Customer service - Didnt get the promo? Thats because you "Completed" the Application with the "tuesday" on Tues 28/07 But WE didnt "OPEN" your account till 30th "ha ha" your fault!

Closed account right away. Good bye ME Bank.
