Thought this was a good deal.
I got one recently and I am super impressed with the product and it gets great reviews. Wanted another today for the wifes power bank and I thought this price was really good. I paid double that for mine here on a recent Mushtato deal. I realise BangGood is no PC Byte, though I would had 10 orders with them over time and not had a single problem. Not the fastest delivery on the planet but otherwise I do like to bang good.

Great tool to test your xiaomi power bank to see if it is genuine. If you plug the light in and it lights up straight away, it means the power bank is authentic. If it is not genuine, it won't activate without pressing the button on the power bank.

    • really? worrying..

    • Are you sure? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDkWu4cGHOE

seems to say the switch works for on/off but the fakes dont.

      • I was referring to the power bank. To use the led light to test to see if the power bank is genuine.

    • Would you not be able to achieve the same outcome by plugging a phone in to charge? If it charges without pressing the button, then power bank is authentic. If it requires a press of the button, then it's fake?

      • You are also correct. However, some cables like the 3 in 1 types will hinder phone from automatically drawing power and you need to press the button to start the charge even though the power bank is genuine. But yes, if it is a direct cable connection, the real one charges the phone straight away upon plugging in.

I didn't know this until I had my hands on a fake one sold in the streets in asia while travelling. I could have used my phone but I happened to have my led light handy so I used that instead.

not too confident on what its intention is given the sellers name :p

    • is it just me or does something feel really wrong there? Seller 'One Yuan Sex Products' has all these other items for safe (NSFW) but there are other issues like he has this as well:
      http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/High-Quality-Xiaomi-…

And the images are not showing the genuine Xiaomi stamp are they? Surely the would if they were original - mine has the stamp.

    • +1

      nope.
      The aliexpress are definitely fake.
      take a look.

      • Speaking of genuine / fake, they also have headphones which in the comments people say these are V2 pistons. What do you think? Real o fake? http://www.banggood.com/Original-Xiaomi-Earphone-With-Remote…

        • definitely going to say real.
          Overall customers are pretty clever.
107 reviews and 102 of them (95.3%) were rated 5 star.
It would of been exposed for sure I believe.
Maybe 5 people not thrilled - that's lower than Dick Smith I'm going to say.

      • +1

It looks like the images you have comparing aliexpress and genuine are not showing the same side of the product.

Is it fake because of the colour? Or the image do not look the same?

        • few reasons. I have one on my desk in front of me. that aliexpress appears fake to me (someone tell me I am absolutely wrong) - to me it just doesn't look like the genuine one I have here. But you are right - it is different sides. The colour is the main problem, doesn't look right to me. I also cannot understand why with, what, say 5 images to showcase the product and they do not choose a single one that orientates the product so one can view the genuine Xiaomi stamp?
It is a $2.13 gamble and I still wouldn't take it.

        • @seamonkey: i ordered a cheapo out of curiosity. I have a bare bones led usb light like this one that cost 40cents from aliexpress. it's great/bright/compact but doesn't have the "arm". so, I'll see how the 83 cent one goes.

        • @altomic: received the 82cent one today. exterior feels fine. no xiaomi logo - but I couldn't care less if it said "Beats by Dr Dre" or "Gucci".

it works and is bright. perfect for my laptop.

      • +2

If it does the same thing then do we really care?

        • -2
        • -4

          Get a life maybe?

        • +1

@seamonkey: that review has the dude saying that the phyiscal texture of the light casing is slightly different and there is no logo. both look to have the same brightness.

        • @altomic:

but you cannot use the power bank switch to turn a fake one on and off. they feel crap, they do not bend the same for me, I heard they run hotter (wasnt my experience but didnt have fake going for long) , they do not have the same build quality. I might of posted the wrong video as I had watched so many - my point was I wouldn't want to give up any of the above issues to save myself literally about $2

    • No Xiaomi logo near the USB port -> 100% fake

  • +2

Good product. I used it a lot for reading.

Cheaper than previous deal. Same price $2.59 but in AUD now!!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/190987

    • +1

Think they are about another 19 cents cheaper than the previous deal?
Not bad considering AUD has gone further south over those few months.

    • +1

I just bought the led usb light from ikea yesterday to be used for reading as well. If only I had waited for a day. Still bought one anyway.

      • +2

I bought 3 last time and bought another 2 this time. :)

        • +2

Now you are tempting me. I'm a sucker for torch and the like. I have to refrain myself nowadays from hoarding . My justification for this purchase is "back up light if my Ikea one is broken".

    • +1

I got 3 on the last deal. Not sure if they are genuine, but they work well.

I plugged one into the USB port at the back of my TV. Works well as a TV backlight.

They have a strong plastic fume smell the first few times you use them as they get quite warm.

      • That's such good idea. I ended up getting 4 in total.
        1 for reading/hand bag
1 for night light when travelling coupled with usb wall charger
        2 for our monitors

  • +1

Is banggood trustworthy? They spam my inbox and I have found no way to stop their emails, that I didn't even sign up for. The "unsubscribe" option never works.

  • +3

banggood = reliable delivery (it'll happen), but it'll take longer than it should. Cheap. If they say it is genuine, it is genuine (in my experience). I don't think you'd get business class service. What else. I think if you contacted them about your email issue they'd likely resolve it. I've got some really good customer support from in the past. To me they are the MSY of these types of goods. Great prices, everything works out if you know what you want, but don't send the tech clueless neighbour into MSY for a system build. Whatever that all means.

I brought one of these when camping with my girlfriend. It helped us to Banggood in the dark, would reccomend.

    • +1

agreed. great for camping. I have a USB port on my keyboard. amazing how well it lights up the room. Better than a night light when negotiating the house in the middle of the night.

  • -2

There's a place called "BangGood" that's not an Ashley Madison clone?

  • -1
    • +1

Sure. I'll get right on that.

  • +1

US$2.09 if you pay in USD. Should work out a few cents cheaper.

  • 1.20 AUD here Not sure if it's genuine or not

    • nope. fake. no Xiaomi stamp on them. Would be able to see it based on those photos.

  • What's the difference between what's posted and this (other than that this is 93c cheaper):

    http://www.banggood.com/Portable-LED-USB-Light-For-Computer-…

Also, are there any similar USB LED light, but with a switch? I bought one from the previous deal and really wished that it had a switch so that I didn't have to keep on plug/unplugging it every time I want to use it.

    • not genuine. same as above, no Xiaomi stamp on them. Would be able to see it based on those photos.
The quality difference is actually significant. The Xiaomi feels great and you can check out youtube for a comparison fake vs real here. (for example…doesnt automatically go on when it is a fake, feels crap, bend is ordinary, think they are reported to get a lot hotter and so on)

  • +1

    I ordered two. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Nice, got their USB fan too - was delivered nice and quickly, will pop an order in for this too! I like that with their powerbank you can switch it on and off when it's plugged in just by pressing the button (on most powerbanks once it's on, that's it).

    • tempted to get the fan. Realistically how effective is the fan? Curious whether it could be good if I am surfing on my tablet in a stuffy room in SE Asia, which is common for me.

      • +1

I thought it was pretty effective - I bought it more for the summer months here so haven't used it yet 'in anger' but it's certainly able to blow papers round the desk, etc!

  • +1

Anyone notice the OP's remark: "Not the fastest delivery on the planet but otherwise I do like to bang good"

    • +1

      Yes. I noticed that.

  • It seems to be cheaper at Gearbest AU $2.74 http://www.gearbest.com/iphone-cables-adapters/pp_140786.htm…

I have posted about the USB fan here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/204707

    Don't forget CashRewards!

  • Cheers @seamonkey good deal!

  • +1

http://www.gearbest.com/cases-covers/pp_159593.html This one is $2.09 free shipping. It looks like it has the logo too so might be genuine.

    • @JigglePhysics: Thanks for sharing.

  • Mine arrived today pretty good device especially for the price! Will come in handy on the next camping trip =)
