Arcosteel Chef/Santoku Knife $8/$10 (Was $16/$15) @ Woolworths

30

Keeping up with the craze in Knife buying currently raging OZBargain, saw these knives from woolies yesterday.

  1. The normal chef knife is selling for $8 (half price)

    Also the

  2. Santoku Knife is $10 (30% off).
I reckon this is a good price for a Santoku, So I bought one.

Review by me:
Knife has a sturdy handle does not wobble while cutting hard vegetable, e.g. Corn. A heavy base so it feels balanced while cutting. Worth a buy.

This was is SA, hopefully this promotion is running elsewhere.

  • Do you know whether it is available in Victoria ?

    • +1

Its available in Chirnside park and eastland from what ive seen, so probably in all other stores

  • Good prices, fo sho, but also note that Aldi are doing 'Asian knives' this coming Wednesday for $7 each:

and they've just done a bunch of regular kitchen knives, stores I've visited recently still have stock. Between those sales they cover off the standard 'cooks' knife and the 'santoku' knives a bit cheaper (and possibly a bit better, not sure) than this woolies deal.

  • I got ikea 365+ santoku. It is $18 and it is one piece carbon steel body. So awesome!

This Arcosteel Santoku is steel, right ? Not carbon steel, correct ?

      • All steel has carbon. In fact, steel is a combination of iron and up to 2.3% of carbon.

        • +1

Correct! Steel is an alloy of carbon and Iron. What Hayeswei may be referring to is Stainless Steel which has other elements apart from Carbon and Iron viz. Chromium, Nickel etc.
