Oblivion has 40% off but still costs $23.99 US? (profanity) off. Sale prices of this have gone below $5, Steam has it cheaper at the moment at $11.99 US, its usual price on Steam is $19.99 US.

Sales from these guys are just crap, I guess you will have to check the price against other stores before making a purchase of any game.

It's also US$11.99 on the Humble Store if using a US VPN.

My personal process when purchasing any steam game is to check current and past prices at a variety of online stores using IsThereAnyDeal.com (generally through Enhanced Steam), and also G2A. With the given graphs, the former provides information about how often the game goes on sale and for how much, which I find useful for determining whether I can wait for a better price or not.

When Shovel Knight goes below $5 I'm going to have a couple of weeks of fun. Considering it's been out a year and never below USD $10 I might be waiting a while though.

  • Some nice deals.

    Edit

I think Steam games will sell even less once more people catch on that Steam has nerf'd the drop rate of cards. I gave it a trial with some spare keys I had, sure enough it took 15+ hours on each game before the first card dropped. I heard Steam are trying to prevent people from purchasing games, getting cards, then getting a refund.

    • This doesn't seem to happen for me.
I played Rocket League for less than two hours, and got all three of my card drops. Maybe it's only on accounts that have refunded a game in the past?

      • Not sure, but I've never had a game refunded on the account I was test, also there's a heap of posts on the Steam forums about it. So far Steam has only acknowledged that the drop rate has changed for having multiple games open - drops halve for every extra game open. Only been 10 days since the change so I guess we'll have to see what happens.

    • The people who care about cards are probably in the minority.

If they were in the minority I'm not sure why random indie games that aren't popular update their game to have trading cards.

        • Very true.

      • Many of us have games left over from bundles which we have no intention of playing, it makes good economic sense to run them for their card drops before putting them back in the Library to gather dust. Also, can only get the random bonus Booster Pack drops from those games which have had all the card drops done, this also applies to creating Booster Packs.

That Xmas the Gems came out I got a bunch of newly released high-end games just for recycling old backdrops and emotes I'd never use and couldn't sell.

  • Better prices for Oblivion GOTY and Fallout when using a US VPN: US$11.99 and US$3.39 respectively.
