2 Step / 3 Step Steel Ladder 120KG $12 / $15 @ Officeworks

520

Saw this in store yesterday and grabbed a 3 step stool. They actually charged me $19.98. Thinking to post it here then realized that it's $15. Anyone know if I can get the $4.98 refunded?

You don't really have any right to get the difference refunded since you agreed to that price at the point of sale; the store manager might be nice though.

    • But I can actually refund mines for $19.98 and get a new one for $15. Wouldn't that be easier for them to simply give me the difference back?

      • Could be easier for them but what's easier for you is to just return the $19.98 one and buy the $15 one. If there's none left then try asking for difference back

        • that's easier? (sense the sarcasm)

I'm pretty sure you cannot charge more for a product than it's advertised at.

No but if he comes in the next day, unless he can prove it was not an online only offer or that the ticket price was different to the sale price, what can he argue? That's like buying something and then seeing it go on sale a day later and you going back and saying you want a refund of the difference.

Refunding and buying again is the best option here.

Sure thing, however your original comment is incorrect.

        • what's wrong with that? If the store is fine with that then why not?

    • I've done this at least 5 times and they don't mind doing it. 3 OW branches in MEL CBD

    • FYI guys, I managed to get my $4.98 back :)

I've had for years what looks to be identical to this 2 step ladder. Still going strong. Pretty sure I paid more than this. I can vouch that not only 1 but all 2 of its steps work as expected. Also great if you have a short wife or significant other. Doubles as an uncomfortable chair of you can't afford a real chair yet.

    A true multi use device.

I'm thinking of stepping up and buying the 3 step version next.

    2 Step / 3 Step Steel Ladder 120KG $12 / $15

They're pretty heavy… What are they made of?

    • +2

      Osmium.

    • Joke aside, the 3 step ladder weights 5.75 kg, quite heavy for a ladder.

Make sure you pick up the right 3 step ladder
theres a 150kg that looks exactly the same that costs like $52…
and once you get to the counter you will have to do the walk of shame putting the ladder back and walking out…
    couldnt find any at vermont
and the 2 steps were $20 didnt ask them why theres a price diff as i was only interested in the 3 steps

Got the 3 step. Very happy

  • Only 120kg capacity? :-(
I guess at that price I can but two and precariously hop up both at the same time to keep under the max load :-)
I'd still be cheaper than the 150kg capacity one

  • i hope my local ow will still have stock next tuesday.

Still stock of the 2 step at Sydney Clarence St Store (approx 5 left when I went in).

2 Step Ladder has EN14183 stamped on a label on it - so at least it is built to the standard… looks sturdy, will be handy for changing light globes and accessing things in the kitchen :)

  • Still stock of both 2 step and 3 step ladders in South Melbourne store just outside meeting room near the printing area. Not marked as $12 and $15 respectively but will scan at these prices (at least of the 2 step which I bought).

  • Hi Maki,,, In which store did you buy this? Even I want to buy one.

    • I bought mines in the Keswick OW. Be sure that they charge you $15 instead of $19.98 :)

  • Thanks for this. I managed to get the last one at my local officeworks and because I called beforehand the guy was nice enough to put it on hold at the front of the store.
