      $10 is the RRP

      https://www.korjo.com/Product-Range/Adaptors---FROM-Aus/NZ-TO-world/Adaptor---Europe-(KAEU).aspx

    • At DSE it alternates between $7.50 and around $3.10 according to Oz Price Tracker.

  • Doubles are normally $19.95 from the Korjo site and singles are $10.94 plus delivery I suppose.

    Doubles - https://www.korjo.com/Product-Range/Adaptors-(1)/Adaptor-(double)-for-Europe-(KA-EU-DA).aspx

Probably much more expensive when you end up having to pay Melbourne Airport prices…….:)

  • No coupons required - just click the links provided and use the click and collect if you want to save postage costs….

I bought two universal adaptor before, they were $10 each, good quality.
They look like something like this for AU$3.75, NOT sure about the quality though.

Not really as you would have to fly to Bali via the USA and UK :)……..

      • well, unless you only want to travel to Bali in the near future.
the UK plug is used in Malaysia and Singapore at least.
Japan ones also in China too.

    • just as a caution - never deal with plugs like this! Referring to the zapals listed product…

Too many points of contact with metal and moving parts is definitively not recommended! "Internal spikes" within the unit can cause damage to power units that you use and can get shocked by these… they are just too flimsy and construction is not good - they use "cheaper" plastic molds inside that help with weight and manufacturing process that's not worth your valuable items or life… especially overseas on holiday.

      • I've got a bunch of the universal adapters and think they are awesome. They've got to be 8 years old, I used them when I moved to the UK to run my AUS applicances and now I use them here to run my UK appliances. Have also used them in a bunch of other countries, they rock!

One would have to be mindful of different voltages(240v/110v) and frequency of the supply (50/60Hz).

  • +6

When in Bali, do it bali style: cut off the plug, strip the wires, and poke them in the socket.
For bonus points, use speaker wire for 220V, like my hotel did.

  • Cheers bought the double adaptor as will be going to bali in a few months

    • +1

Ahhh they got ya, just take a power board with you. Took a 6 port with me a few months ago when I went and charged everything!

      • Good idea, luckily I don't really need to charge 6 devices at once, somehow I survived with a single adaptor last trip with my wife.

  • edit: nm

The adapters can be bought fairly cheaply in Bali.

    • +3

If you like being electrocuted sure…

      • +2

Considering the pretty crudey powerpoint (literally falling off the wall), the adapter was the least of my worries.

      • I survived plenty years with china made adapters, which is what they sell there.

  • +11

Protip: this 'Bali' travel adaptor will miraculously work on the 17,508 other islands in Indonesia too (provided they are mains connected).

    • +1

And amazingly too in most parts of Europe.

    • Wait, are you telling me that not only can I use my 'Bali' adapters in Jakarta, but I can also spend my left over Bali money AND use my Bali SIM card??!!!

      /s

  • I prefer to use the truly universal adaptors that can input and output any plug type. I got one delivered on ebay with dual usb charging ports for about $15.

Saves having to work out what you need or bring multiple ones if stopping somewhere. You just need 1 and a double adaptor.

    • Most of those don't connect the earth wire. Works for some appliances but not for all.

      • -1

You'll find almost all of the adaptors you buy don't. In fact, those korjo ones don't

        • +1

Of course the Korjo ones have earth connected. You can even see the metal of earth contacts in the photo, both in the groves on top and bottom (for most of Europe) and in the round hole (for France).

        • @team teri: Just a note… The Swiss just to be different have slightly smaller plugs.

          Like http://www.tuxgraphics.org/electronics/powersockets/power_socket_ch.jpg

I believe Italy might have something similar especially in old buildings. My point is bring different sized plugs.

        • @team teri:

Oh sorry you're right. Must be another korjo I had, most don't. Or just have plastic earth grounds just to hold it.

  • Thank you. Will be handy for my Europe trip :)

  • +1

Bought it from them for $2.39 about a month ago.

    Out of stock now

    • Still available for click and collect at my five local stores. You have to view the page on the desktop website to see click and collect availability.

Yep all Korjo adapters showing out of stock now

    Tip:

Bring only 1 travel adaptor and ….. a powerboard with usb on it.

With this combo you can charge phone, power your laptop , even hair dryer all in the same time

    • With or without surge protector?

    • I did this last time I traveled. My mates laughed at me at first, but I had the last laugh when all their various devices ran out of juice while mine were nicely charged. They're all now converts to packing the powerboard.

  • It's not just the Bali adaptors that are on sale. This is fantastic. We're moving to the USA and will need a bunch of these for different rooms…bought 5.

    • Make sure you grab some aussie power boards as well. That way you can chuck one in your office and one by your bed and have 4 or more Aussie plugs for your phone etc.

      • For sure. Powerboards always get packed when I travel.
Kitchen, livingroom, 2 x bedroom and 1 x bathroom, I think I'm covered for adaptors! Now to buy a reasonable transformer for all our 240V kitchen appliances

        • I'm not sure I'd bother with the transformer unless you really really want to take the kitchen appliances with you. If the appliances are fairly recent or in decent condition you could chuck them on gumtree and should be able to sell them.

Then do the same if you decide to move back to the Australia (sell and rebuy).

P.S If you haven't already you may want to buy some US $ before it drops below .70

  • the one thing i needed is not on sale. The korjo travel pillow.

  • Thanks Op. going to Bali next month

    • Bali aka boganland….

      • -1

No need to be jealous that I'm taking a holiday

        • I have been to Bali once, will never go back there again. I am off to travel around europe in three weeks time. Enjoy boganland with the bottom 10% of Australia

        • -1

@slimdavy5: don't forget to make make a stop at Greece and stay there

        • @taQ: I have already been to Greece, such a lovely place. Totally unlike the filth that is Indonesia (just in case you don't know Bali isn't a country, it is a part of Indonesia) Hopefully they allow flights to Bali again by the time you have your holiday, it appears that they are cancelling them at the moment.

  • Did anyone else get subscribed to their newsletter when ordering without permission? Received an e-mail saying Newsletter Subscription Success, don't recall saying that's OK…

    • I believe there is a checkbox when ordering

      • Must've missed it. Thanks

  • Dont get too hung up if you missed this - most reasonable hotels will have a 240v AU style socket in the bathroom or provide you with a loan adapter for free if you ask. I stopped carrying these around years ago.

EDIT: The pro traveller tip is to bring your own AU power board with you, so when you do have only 1 compatible socket (or you bought 1 of these adapters), you can charge multiple devices using your own powerboard - which unlike the adapters are HARD to find overseas. Be sure to check the rating of the socket as many of the bathroom powerpoint based voltage converters in 110v countries wont put out 2400w @ 240v.

    • Most of the bathroom sockets are for low power devices like shavers. These seem to be disappearing too, with fewer bathrooms equipped with any kind of power outlet. Wondering if it's a safety thing.

  • Australia to Indonesia you mean, bali is an island that's a part of that country. You wouldn't say you brought a liverpool converter when you were going to England….

  • Having travelled to Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand in the past couple of years, (Bali included), I've always taken adapters, but have never needed them. All the hotels I stayed in had at least one 'multi' socket https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power_plugs_and_sockets#/me… in the room, which worked fine with a powerboard.
