Store Representatives cannot vote on deals of his/her own store ? Why not ? I think they are good deals

    • +6

Don't worry, if the deal is good enough, ozbargainers will do their thing.

    • +3

When you post a deal of your own store, you start with an initial vote count of zero.

If a non-rep posts it, it automatically starts at one.

    • Why not ?

      No bias?

    • +3

Your posting here tells us that you think it's a good deal. Leave the judgement to OzB

    • Mswhy indeed

  • Is it possible to order on Monday online and pick up on the weekend? there's no way I can get off work on time to score any of these bargains

Unbelievable that the 902 case is still selling.

Do yourself a favour and pass up that antique from 2006.

It's got a heaping of cheap, creaky, plastic fascia with a sandpaper texture that rattles and vibrates a lot, the plastic see-through panel is affixed with screws that easily fall out of their plastic sockets (not to mention the plastic flexes if you breathe on it), the godawful array of LED fans and the extremely aerated design make it noisy as hell and dust has no issue blanketing the interior through the enormous 230mm fan vent at the top. The HDD activity LED is visible with a magnifying glass only, and the rear-facing HDD cages are a b*tch to manage with longer length GPUs and lots of cabling.

Given it's mid-range price-tag, that case feels ridiculously cheap and flimsy.

The number of thumb screws in my old 902 case made seriously regret opening it every time I did. I ended up just leaving them out of the drive bays altogether. The dust filters also developed tears in them after hardly any use.

Corsair cases are where it's at for $100-160 dollar cases. Carbide 400R/500R or 330R Titanium.

    • its a good case but there is better for the price…

      • Most case manufacturers always have some very nice cases. but there lower and cheaper range is not normally as good.

A while back I purchased a cheap Fractal Core 3000 case. Regretted it. Build quality is nowhere near something like there higher end Fractal design Define series such as the R5 which sells for around the same price as the 902 v3 @ $159.

    • Never knew the case was so old till you mentioned it. Looks like it's 2011 era.

      • The Antec 900 (which the 902 V1/V2/V3 are based on) is from 2006 like I said. Literally nothing has changed apart from the placement of the front I/O panel, the inclusion of a USB 3.0 header and flatter top fascia/bezel. And it still costs north of $130 like it did when it came out for 2006-era features and quality.

Add the USB 3.0 front ports. Now it's new again!

        • Oi.. nothing wrong with the Antec 900.. Mine still goes beautifully outside of it gathering a lot of dust balls which requires regular cleaning! Just did my upgrade in it with new CPU/Mobo/PSU/SLI GPU etc. I love my Antec 900!

          @bchliu:
Painful to clean it. Have to unscrew the HDD compartment to take out filter.

  • thx op, was after a laser printer deal

A 3d printer to make your own laser?

Probably should mention that there is a "handling fee" on the items for sale (can't technically buy the items without incurring the additional fee). Or am I missing a method to skip this fee?

    • +1

I have never seen that. Ordering online for pickup doesn't have any additional fee.

      • ridiculous assertion

MSY has obviously been a favorite of ozbargain for years and if there was a 'handling fee' there wouldnt be weekly postings and there'd be an uproar over it

  • Recommend a 60gb or 120gb? What are the speeds like?

    • 60Gb is probably too tight for windows

120Gb seems to be a good sweet spot for $$$

240Gb is better but you'd probably want a faster SSD for the money

its ok for the money but $70 is getting up there, pretty sure it was $59 last week sans case

    • If you can afford it, grab the 240GB version as it performs a fair bit faster than the 120GB due to the DRAM buffer it has.

The Phison S9 was first launched over a year ago for use in cache SSD products. Patriot doesn't mention the cache aspect in the marketing material, and we've learned that several SSDs using the S9 ship in China, where low-cost SSDs outsell big name products daily.

Both the Torch and Blaze 240GB, and larger capacity models, use the Phison S8 controller designed for mainstream users. The S8 also uses a DRAM buffer to increase performance by caching table data, a map of sorts for the location of your data in relation to the flash cells. Because of this, the Torch and Blaze 240GB products perform significantly faster than the 120GB models.

I bought the 240GB last time it was on special for $107.

    • Alright thanks for the suggestions
