The Cynical Brit’s (Not So) Cynical Picks
Love him or hate him, TotalBiscuit is a well-known and well-heard opinionated force in gaming. He’s fueled by cynical commentary on the latest industry ins and outs and, of course, on games themselves - so this weekend, we’re bringing you the ones he loves most.
Want to know why these were chosen? See this video review for his very own explanation of why each one is worth your while.
The big titles:
Pillars of Eternity
The critically acclaimed revival of the classic cRPG from the minds behind Fallout: New Vegas and Europa Universalis. If you loved Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale and appreciate choice and consequence in games, you’re sure to quickly get immersed in the D&D style of this title.
Wasteland 2
Another lauded spiritual successor, this is the sequel to the memorable 1988 title - memorable because it redefined RPG gameplay with multipathed quest-solving, choice, consequence and maturity, and went on to inspire titles like Fallout.
Age of Wonders 3
This title will also take you back to the old days of playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 or Civilization through a fantasy 4X with a modern feel. Available alongside its two DLCs, Golden Realms and Eternal Lords, this title is expansive and features the option for multiplayer gaming.
