I was one of the many Exetel customers moved onto plans that were over priced and massively reduced plans, during a contract period. Needless to say there won't be to many customers left when they get hit with there first bill.
I found this company, and it's having a sale - Netcube Unlimited Lite Plan - 6 month contract, prepay the first 3 and you get $0 cost setup, $0 modem, $0 delivery cost. For ADSL2+/NBN, prices start from $49.95 per month. Minimum cost $299.70 for 6 months.
No excess charges, No peak/off-peak times, Powered by Australia's largest network (Telstra), Multilingual customer support, Includes 15G Google drive storage, Refer a friend and receive a free month*
It's worth checking them out if you are after a new ISP and don't want setup fees to begin with, they are a very small player in the market, but they are growing rapidly.

Correct. I did not want line rental or my phone, I wanted to stay with my current provider, there are more plans that do have phone included.
Exetel have unlimited plan for $59 including line rental..how is this better than that?
if you are rural and can't get anything but telstra lines it's a good deal. I wasn't thinking about city people.
@Bargin-Hunter: Probably should have mentioned this in the first post then…since if you weren't directing this bargain towards city people you are probably not directing this towards 70/80% of OzBargainers
how is this better than that?
Exetel have a habit of throwing people out, even when they haven't used their full quota, when the initial contract ends. You get an email saying "sorry, you aren't profitable to us, you have a month to transfer away" or words to that effect. I doubt this will be any different for "unlimited" plans.
This is entirely legal - they didn't limit you when you were within the contract, but there is no requirement for them to continue doing business with you once the contract ends.
Where exactly is the deal here? Pricing isn't really that competitive especially for a 24 month plan
It's a 6 month contract, and for the same internet package (unlimited) Exetel will charge you now $89 per month.
It's the best available if you're on a Telstra only exchange, RIM or Tophat.
City or Country…
Good company was reselling this brand at our store. a bit lag for communication, quality worse the money overall.

Pretty much the most compelling reason to stay far far away from them possible. I would not be offering up 3 months of payments for that gamble. Thread on whirlpool has plenty of issues such as extremely slow connection times, support issues and wrong hardware being delivered (and then having security vulnerabilities due to default username/password and having web UI enabled).
Not a bargain, bare basic price for a bare basic service which will no doubt over sell and under supply as others have in the past.
EDIT: previous $39.95 deal was for 12/1 speeds, whereas the current deal is for "Up to 24Mbps speed", so $49.95 is actually pretty good, but unfortunately they don't service my area. I am with Exetel and I would have to pay $79.95 for unlimited on my 25/5 plan….
Was $39.95 for the same deal only a few months ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/169563Finally found the formatting page! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/128793
Is this cheaper than TPG?
I'm keen for a 6 month contract if it is
thanks for the deal man. Always on the lookout for a competitive nbn package :)
Hey why the dummy spit? You have 5 plus votes (inc. one from me ;) in one hour, that's better than some of my deals have gotten in the past!
Yeah it's pretty good if you are regional. I was with Exetel they wanted to charge me $109/month with their new plans, used to be $70. Bastards.
Hmm tbh this is more expensive than Exetel for me. I'm using their $45/month 50GB plan including line rental.
TBH, a 50gig plan is very different to to unlimited - but if you are happy, no need to look else where.
What speed for nbn?
does not include line rental
