Xiaomi Stereo Bluetooth Speaker AU $24.92 Delivered @ GearBest

240
GBXMSP

Hi all,
I’ve managed to negotiate a coupon for my readers on the XiaoMi Stereo Bluetooth speaker I’ve reviewed but only for 200 units. With the coupon, it comes down to AUD$24.92 for plus you should be able to use CashRewards to get 8% cash back bringing it down even further.

I found it to be an excellent quality speaker that is true stereo (most are mono) and has ample loudness for a medium sized room.

    No 3.5mm input = no sale.

      Just a heads up, it's 2015.

        Just a heads up, people use equipment differently to you, even in 2015.

          @PainToad: Dad, stop with the jokes!!

          @PainToad:

          Think what you like. Using your 3.5mm jack saves battery on both your speaker and your audio player, and you don't have to worry about RF interference unless it gets ridiculously strong. Often there is little disadvantage to being teathered.

          Good to see the people of OzBargain have such a good sense of humor.

        My friend had the Bose Soundlink for 1.5 years & the bluetooth has already gone wonky. Thankfully it had a 3.5mm input. Always good to have a 3.5mm input as backup.

        • +1

          The Soundlink is farking amazing. I use it in the bathroom and it feels like a full sized concert is going on while take a shower. I cant imagine how the hell they squeeze so much bass in that small thing…

      It's a shame but I personally find that I rarely use 3.5mm anymore unless I'm testing TBH.

      • That's fine for you. I find I use it all the time. Much more reliable if there is interference for a start.

        • +4

          I completely understand. Everyone's use case is different.

        • +5

          @Darkscythe: This is true.

          If you need a 3.5mm input then I don't think you should be looking at bluetooth speakers. Kind of defeats the purpose.

        • @anglais88: Not many battery powered portable speakers with enough oomph for sale these days that aren't BT, and even if you use 3.5mm most of the time, BT can definitely come in handy. I use BT on my phone, and 3.5mm when playing from a laptop on my (20W) UE Boombox.

  • Hmm - clarification needed:

    "It is not clear from the images, does it have 2 set of speakers beneath or 1? Basically I want to know is it Mono or Stereo?
    Reply:
    Hi, datta! It is 1 speaker and it is Stereo."

    Your review clarifies it, but I think I can see where something got lost in translation. They may appreciate a heads up :-)

    • Lol. Yeah, I can see it too. Just for everyone's sake, there are two drivers under the speaker grill - I tested a few tracks that flick between channels to make sure when I reviewed it.

    S/N 80dB

    BTW, if anyone was wondering, that's signal to noise ratio, not sound pressure level.

    • Cheers. I've been dealing with technical data for way too long :p

    Just received one of these a week ago and it works a treat. Though it is smaller than I expected, the sound is good.
