  Is the Range extender any good? and is it N300? Ive heard some Netgear ones a pure SHITE. They don't connect or drop connections. Is this in that category?

  if you can find one, I recommend the gs608 switch. I have been using one for several years without problem.

    You are lucky. The GS608 (version 2) I got from a friend is a true POS. It drops 1G connections down to 100M whenever it likes. Found and replaced two leaking power caps but still no good. Then I measured the voltage from the power adapter and it was outputting 15V (it is supposed to be 12V). Replaced the power adapter and this POS is still unstable.
