They do also have the R700 @ $54.50 but looks like its store stock only so will depend if your local has stock

  • I thought this was an airmouse, but just a small laser plus a few wireless usb-keyboard buttons. High RRP just because it is sold to corporates.

HOWEVER, this might be the easiest way to buy a laser legally in Australia now, even if it is only <1mW.

easiest way to buy a laser? there's plenty of pointers on ebay for a couple bucks…

Good way to get a nasty letter from Her Majesty's Customs Office. Or is that just if you are unlucky?

there's no way you're going to get a letter for something like this. just about every $2 shop sells them

        • @mr kindface:
OK, I was wrong. Sub 1mW is unrestricted. I think most of the ones on eBay are 5mW, and so illegal imports.
I wonder if the $2 shop ones are really cut to 1mW, or they just change the sticker ? :)

Officeworks sells it at $79, price match and pay $24.09.

  • I bought the R700 today. The laser is piddly. I also bought some laser pointers from eBay. The laser pointers are far brighter than the R700. The stopwatch is useless, so unless you need the range, I would have bought the R400 at that price.

The laser pointers on eBay that are sold within australia are legal - 1mW or less. Don't buy one from overseas, thats when you risk a customs letter. Stick to the ones posted from within australia and you will be fine.
