Hope you can help. During the 2014/2015 financial year, I worked casually for about 5 months for the one employer. In order to do my tax return, I need this payment summary from them. However, I have tried unsuccessfully to reach them by phone and email. What happens if my payment summary is not automatically sent to me? or if I simply cannot get it from the employer? Thanks

Contact the ATO - Be prepared for a long long wait though…. Off memory you have until October to receive your statements, (or is it August?) and if the employer is no help as in your case, the ATO will be on their arse like wildfire!

Your employer will be in trouble if they don't send statements.
If you get nowhere, you can file your return with a declared estimate, but if you underestimate you tax obligations you may have trouble later. So best to wait if you can.
The 2014/2015 statements have to be distributed by 14/07/2015. Maybe they just haven't done it yet?
The company has 2 weeks to prepare and issue the statements. My company accountant confirmed this with me because I wanted to do my tax return early but she was too busy doing her own stuff.
It's a legal obligation to issue the statements. You need to contact the ATO if you couldn't get it and ask them for advice what to do next.
Your latest pay slip for this employer should indicate the total income you have earn from the start of the financial year. That would be as good an estimate income figure you will ever get.
If you really can't get one, you can provide stat dec of your income and tax withheld (you can base this on your last payslip). But as the payment summaries are not due till mid-July, I would wait till at least end of July before doing this.
I can't get an old one from 2015, the old employor won't bother to get it for me. Since I left there work already
my details added automatically into E-tax for me i still haven't got my statement but have already lodged my tax for 14/15.
