I bought Bauhn Universal Travel Adaptor Kit from Aldi last week. The instruction manual mentions "this product can charge devices via USB with up to 3.1A in total. When you connect two or more products that require more than 3.1A, the adaptor may cut off the power into the USB ports."
I charged two phones - iPhone 5 and Y550 via USB. It takes almost double the time as normal charging.
Asus 7 tablet took almost 8 hrs to charge.
Does anyone have similar experience or my product is faulty?
Is 8ware 5 Port USB Wall Charger with Travel Adapter from MWave any better or the experience will be the same?
Thanks in advance.
According to spec sheet, the 8ware 5 port charger looks pretty weak.
Output: DC 5V, 2000mA (1-USB) / 1000mA (2-USB) / 660mA (3-USB) / 500mA (4-USB)
If charging only 1 device, it'll do 2 amps (which is slightly less than what some tablet chargers do) and if 2 it halves down to 1 amp each. And so on.
This mBeat Quintary 5-port 40W USB Smart Charger though it is $36, and it claims to do a total of 8 amps combined.
Charging capacity: up to 3 x 2.4A tablets, or 5 x 1A phones, or auto-share 8A.
This Noontec also claims 10 amps
