After the success of our previous deal on the Tronsmart Qualcomm Certified Quick Charge 2.0 USB Charger, we've decided to do a deal on the newly released 4 USB port version. This device normally sells for $19.99, but for Ozbargain we've dropped the price to $11.89 with the coupon VKJNJEOM

The Quick Charge port is also backwards compatiable with any devices that do not support the technology and has 3 VoltIQ USB ports. The charger is perfect for charging your phone and powering your G1W-C ;)

  • Link not working

    • Try again. Should be fine now.

      • Keep getting bad request page.

        • Are you on the mobile site? That's having a few issues at the moment.

  • had to ask.. any similar product compatible with iPhone 6/6+?

    • Unfortunately Apple don't seem to have an alternative. The 2.1a ports however will still charge it faster as the included iPhone charger is only 1.0a.

  • +2

I bought 2 USB version from Geekbuy, very happy with it. My Note 4 has fast charge compatible therefore it works like a charm. Will buy this one as a gift :-)

  • +1

Thanks. Needed a decent charger, the old 500mA job I found doesn't really work well for my Note 4.

  • Damnit should've waited for this as it's less than $2 more :(

    • Why not both? Give the other one to the Mrs ;)

      • -1

        Misses doesn't have a car ><

I don't even have 4 devices in the car to charge anyway ><

  • +1

    .
I also got the 2 port version last time and it works a treat charging my S5 (faster charging in the car than at home !!)
I'd like to mention anyone upgrading their PC some motherboards include a "fast USB charge chip" as well, my next upgrade will certainly include that model

  • Is it just a charger that will deliver more grunt than 2A? Am I over simplifying things. The phone itself is in charge of the'charging', so this is just a higher power current source, or is there some more intelligence in this charger..

    • +1

Qualcomm has developed a fast charging technology in their chipsets that allows it to charge much faster . Only certain phones support it though. The article I linked in the main post explains it all.

  • +2

awesome, can you do a deal for this one too?

    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Qualcomm-Certified-Tronsmart-…

    • +1

I'll find out if there is going to be an AU version rather than using an adapter.

      • thanks, ill end up getting one anyways and just using a different australian cord

        • No worries then :)

    • I would like to get 1 as well if there is a deal on this…

      • There are no specific deals, but our 5% off sitewide coupon GKBfan should work.

    • I'd be keen for this deal also

  • +1

any more special discounts on the 2 port version?

    • Unfortunately it's sold out currently.

      • Do you know when it will be in stock again?

        • I'll ask someone at Geekbuying and find out.

        • @Clear:

Now that's a quick response time!

  • Hi, can a regular charging 5volt device be used in the blue quick charge port, or would it damage it? . Thanks

    • +2

It seems (looking at the specifications) that the quick charge port runs at 12V1.5A, so apparently not.

Actually from the specs in this post, it supports 5V2A.

"The Quick Charge port is also backwards compatible with any devices that do not support the technology"

    • +2

I have the tronsmart and qc port is fine for charging non-qc devices

  • I bought the 2 port version from the previous deal. It arrived in "OK" time, packaged well in a sealed retail package. Looks to be good quality and "seems" to work fine.

I have a Galaxy S5 SM-G900I with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU which supposedly supports the quick charge 2.0 but my model of S5 doesn't appear in any of the approved device lists.

How do/can you verify it's charging at the faster rate? Battery Monitor Widget reports current only but doesn't seem aware of voltage. Even then the current seems a bit low.

    • Try Ampere

      • Thanks but same problem really. Only current is measured and higher voltage is a significant portion of how Quick Charge works.

        • +1

I just whipped out my meter. Unfortunately my SM-G900I S5 doesn't enter QC mode. My S6 and Z2 Tablet do.

        • @eug:
Thanks. What did you use to test?

        • +1

@Shonky: I made a USB breakout box so I can hook up my 2-channel multimeter to monitor both voltage and current at the same time.

    • You go onto Ebay and buy a BATTERY DOCTOR.

The you will know how much current.

The widgets only tell you which charge setting the phone has decided to use. Simpliistically, Android devices usually just keep stepping up the current until the voltage drops below (say) 4.8V, then they change back one step and check occasionally.

    • Exactly the same except that doesn't have the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 port like this one does.

  • Thanks

  • $16.41 AUD??

    • Yeah around $16~ AUD after conversion fees.

  • Has anyone used this with GPS TomTom Go series and phone? The Go series is so power hungry and the brightness gets dimmer via normal USB charger :(

  • Why it's showing usd $12.98???

    • Because you have to apply the coupon at the cart.

    • Nevermind it worked

      • Thanks

  • +1

REP: Any deals on a wall quick charger? Looking for one for my ZenFone 2. Cheers! (P.s. you can still plug and charge a non quick charge device right?)

    • +1

There are no specific deals on the quick wall chargers currently, but this 5% off sitewide coupon can be used GKBfan

Yeah, you can use non-quick charge devices on this too.

    • +1

      http://www.anandtech.com/show/9251/the-asus-zenfone-2-review…
Yes Supports quick charging 2.0 by qualcomm
"I have confirmed myself that the ZenFone 2 also supports fast charging using Qualcomm QC 2.0 certified charging blocks"

  • I placed an order for a small android device in early June. It took almost a month to get it delivered via their regular post. Just a heads up for anybody considering purchasing from GeekBuying.com - you might want to spring for a speedier delivery method if you want it quickly.

    • +1

That's why we say it may take up to 30 days for free shipping on the website. You'll find that to be the case with every Chinese site ;)

  • Does this have any LEDs?

    • +1

      No.

      • +1

Good. Thank you, ordering one now!

  • +1

    thanks got 1

  • Just bought a 2-port USB charger (2.1a + 1a, 3.1a total) off ebay for $3.84: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/201360053802
Available locally too for $3.69 but they're out of black with 3-week ETA: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111603416150

Can see how they look fitted at: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-USAMS-Dual-USB-Port-2-1A-…

    • +3

Unlike those, this Tronsmart charger has 3 USB ports with 2.1a. The 4th port also utilises Qualcomm Quick Charge technology for devices that support it and uses VoltIQ technology to prevent overcharging etc. I think the price difference is worth it ;)

    • +2

Apples and oranges I'm afraid. Clear's response sums it up

  • Does the galaxy tab s support certified quick charge?

I bought the 2 port model the other day and it I get a red cross over the charging logo on both ports.

    • Strange. Not sure if it supports it, but you shouldn't get the red X. Have you tried a different USB cable?

      • Thanks, just tried the original USB it came with and it works! I am trying to buy this one but the coupon isn't being accepted, do you enter it on paypal?

    • +1

that red cross means its not getting enough power

  • +1

When the 2 port version gets back in stock will you be able to offer it as a deal on here? Am liking the quick charge capability but won't have more than two devices that need charged, so prefer something slimmer.

    • +1

Definitely. But I have no time frame on that.

  • Can i Use this charger to power 2 of my navman dash cam?

    • If they both allow charging by 2.1a USB ports then I can't see why not.

      • if they requires only 1A or even 500mA, don't these still works?

        • Yes of course.

  • +1

    damn you exchange rate

    • from this link:
      http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=11.89&Fr…

today rate for US $11.89 shipped = $15.81 shipped.

but it was showing AUD$16.54 ( $0.73 difference , with discount code applied) using Geekbuying exhange rate.. so.. i would assume that we are paying more with the Geekbuying exchange rate. :(

      • If you pay for it in AUD on Geekbuying then it's going to convert to US and back again. Either way you're going to get hit by Paypal's conversion fees.

        • Conversion fees I can live with. I just want to go back to the dollar value to go back to what it was in 2010 to 2013

Screw the American economy. I want cheap things!

        • @gerard48: When I first started purchasing from Geekbuying it was at $1.10~… those were the days!

  • Sorry, you missed out on timed out at checkout. Bought one off ebay.

  • +1

Something dramatically wrong with Paypal conversion

All this is off the paypal checkout page

             $12.89 USD

    Coupon Code $-1.00 USD
    Total $11.89 USD

    Review your payment
    Pay with

       Bank x-xxx
       $66.36 AUD
       $1.00 AUD = $0.72 USD

It converts $11.89 US to $66.36 AU
Can't order or it will charge me $66.36 AU

    • lol!!

    • I've sent a message to Geekbuying staff and hopefully it will be sorted soon.

  • +1

Grand Total: AUD 15.87 for in Australian Dollars after the Coupon Code. Great deal. Thank you.

  • Hi,

Is this also compatible with devices, which aren't specified above?

    • Yeah it'll be just like a normal 2.1a port for other devices.

  • Where do you enter the coupon? I put it into paypal but it didnt accept it. Thanks

    • Where it says "- coupon code?" just before checking out and proceeding to paypal

      • Thanks, not sure how I missed it!

  • +1

    Just ordered one. thanks

  • How reliable is the 5-11 business day shipping time quoted on the site? I need a car charger before the end of the month as I'll be taking it O/S.

    • +1

Mine was at the upper end of that in the last deal I think. It was certainly a couple of weeks. I think you'd be borderline with end of the month being 23 days.

Sometimes this sort of stuff is quite quick (relatively) and sometimes quite slow. My guess would be some kind of group shipping so it depends on how soon before a shipment is sent.

      • Yea I was thinking the same. I think I'll give it a miss.

        • There are a few things to factor in with the shipping…'

Free shipping typically takes 2-3 weeks and will be delayed if China is having a national holiday and what carrier it has been sent with. SingPost and China Mail are the quickest while postNL is the slowest. From my own personal experience (as I live in Tas) it takes about 3 weeks for it to arrive from the date it was shipped. Of course if you use DHL etc then you'll get it in a few days after processing.

You're going to find that this is the case with all sites based in China/Hong Kong.

        • @Clear: Ordered on the 5th July. Still not here???

        • @Geez: When was it shipped?
