Funny guy, and I'll miss him, but you could tell last year he was getting old and cranky and tired.

    • +1

Not sure why the negs. Why do you think he is retiring, because he is still full of beans and sparkly happiness?

      • +3

        :) don't take it personally .. I've been neg'd for stating fact, joking… you name it… i'll give you a plus hehehe

      • People neg you cos they disagree, dont like you or anything really. Not cos you're wrong.

    • People are sad he's leaving. The neg is the only "Don't Like" button on the internet. It's clearly a protest vote ..

It's because jv hasn't posted much recently

    • When your eyes are open to how the world works and reporting on it in a comical way, I think eventually it would get to anyone. At the end of the day, the joke is on us all.

      Loved his "Bush years"

Pulls out a Becks, puts feet up
    Thanks OP

    • That's a whole lotta feet up … and loving it !!

    Thanks OP
Would be nicer if you can pick and choose the episodes, but I'm not complaining.

If comedy central makes a box set of this 700+ hours of comedy gold I'd be all over it :D

  • I'm dreading the day when Trevor Noah or whatever his name is takes over :(

    • +3

Not sure how well he'll do hosting the show, but caught some of his standups on youtube, they're decent.

I use proxmate extension on chrome with the the comedy central plugin, so I have been watching all the latest episodes anyway.

Thanks for thumbs up all ..
I was in the US in 2004 - and visited a Democratic Party Party on the night of the 2004 Election in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
When I walked in .. there were about 5 people watch NBC, 3 watching CNN and about 200 watching the Daily Show 2004 Indecision Program.
It was a great night - except for the actual result.
I was interviewed by a local reporter who was wondering why would an Australian be interested in the US election - I told them why … the next day The front page of the Grand Forks Herald had the close election result and on the third page an article about why Australians are "freaked out" about that election.
The Indecision 2004 DVD boxset is still available .. somewhere.

Bought the dvd from ebay last year.

Yes apparently the rather left leaning audience of The Daily Show believes themselves to be informed about current events despite the fact that they chose to inform themselves via 20 minutes of a comedian talking about current events.

Is that worse than the righties who do the same for Fox News? I mean in Fox New's defence it's at least pretending to be news still lel …

      • +2

Fox, dear god. They get zero points for pretending to be the the news, that sh*t is blatant false advertising claiming it is actual news.

      • It is only funny if you follow the news, or at least much of the humour would be missed if you don't know what is going on in the world.
So I don't think you can conclude that viewers are limiting themselves to 20mins of a comedian for their news.
And you are pretty brave taking up a defence position on behalf of Fox.

That's my exercise sorted for as long as my aging abs and diaphragm can take the strain. Thanks O.P.

  • Great show watched it everytime on hulu. The ABC weekly show by Charles Pickering on Wednesdays appears to be modeled on the daily show and may get better.

Will buy the interviews if they come out on Dvd's.

  • Has no one used Hola to bypass the Country detection? I've been using it for at least a year.

    Best year ever.

    • +3

You mean your worst year. Stop using it.

Not the VPN, just the Chrome Extension, on a Mac.

Hmm.. is it true that you can be an exit node proxy from a Chrome App? Didn't know Chrome could do such a thing.

  • Tuesday 26th September 2000 has literally just finished.

    • Why would I get negged for stating a fact? I was referring to the episode that aired on that day.

      • +1

Maybe someone had a grumpy day that day .. and was having a flash back ..
Wait .. middle of the Sydney Olympics .. Cathy Freeman had won the 400m the night before ..
It was a pretty amazing day. +1 for 26 September 2000.
I figure it's taking about 2.5/2.8 days a year … September 11 will be sometime Saturday.

Just checking, is this active yet? I still seem to have the regional restrictions

    • +1

      Worked for me.

Hasn't this always been free to view, usually before it's even aired on CC US …

  • +1

They are on Oct 2000 at the moment, very funny!

  • +1

Can't use the CC app on my phone due to region restrictions.

    Oh well

    • Have you tried the direct link to Month of Zen? It just worked on Safari on iOS.

      • I ended up installing the CC app from amazon using a us account

  • To be honest I preferred Letterman…

  • So can I put a deal up for ABC iview?

    • +2

When they replay 2000 episodes of a show that are currently off-line, sure.

  • +1

Thanks OP.compared to mainstream news and shudder, Fox news, cough, this is real news. Even though it calls itself a comedy show

    • +2

I do like watching Fox when in the US. Sometimes one must watch a train wreck and watch bad "news". It's more interesting to see what the right is saying … and I understand the "world of fear" they operate inside of.

I love the interview when Jon Stewart was on CNN "Crossfire" and calls them out on that THEY are not being a real news show.
The clips on youtube but here's the bit I love and still use today .
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFQFB5YpDZE

STEWART: But the thing is that this — you're doing theater, when you should be doing debate, which would be great.
      BEGALA: We do, do…
STEWART: It's not honest. What you do is not honest. What you do is partisan hackery. And I will tell you why I know it.
CARLSON: You had John Kerry on your show and you sniff his throne and you're accusing us of partisan hackery?
      STEWART: Absolutely.
CARLSON: You've got to be kidding me. He comes on and you…
STEWART: You're on CNN. The show that leads into me is puppets making crank phone calls.
STEWART: What is wrong with you?
CARLSON: Well, I'm just saying, there's no reason for you — when you have this marvelous opportunity not to be the guy's butt boy, to go ahead and be his butt boy. Come on. It's embarrassing.
STEWART: I was absolutely his butt boy. I was so far — you would not believe what he ate two weeks ago.
