Airpark (Brisbane Airport Long Term Parking) Opening Special - $69 for 1 Week Parking

20

Airpark is a newly opened (as of today) air long term carpark at Brisbane Airport (8 Bert Hinkler Drive). It operates 24x7x365, and provides the cheapest on airport parking option, though there are still cheaper off airport parking options if you don't mind the additional time/distance (see below for comparison prices).

There's a free air-conditioned shuttle bus that will take you between the carpark and the two terminals; it runs every 15 minutes for international (24 hours, 5 min trip), and every 20 minutes for domestic (between 4am-midnight, 7 min trip).

There is 24 hour CCTV surveillance covering the whole car park, and on the carpark side there is an air conditioned bus shelter where you can access flight information and vending machines while you wait for the bus.

The normal drive up rates are:
1 day $43.00
2 days $63.00
3 days $83.00
4 days $103.00
5 days $118.00
Each Additional Day $10

http://www.bne.com.au/to-from-brisbane-airport/parking/parkiā€¦ shows an online deal of "from $79* one week", so the opening special saves you at least $10. It says it's for a limited time, though I couldn't find an end/expiry date.

Comparison pricing

The only other option for on airport parking are the multistorey carparks beside the terminals. For these you're usually looking at minimum $99 for 7 days.

Some comparison prices for 7 days parking at selected off airport sites:

  • Alpha Airport Parking is the cheapest I've seen based on a quick selective search at $49 for open air parking. I've used them a few times.
  • Andrews Airport Parking is $79 for outdoor parking.
  • BAP is $56 ($8/day flat rate) for self park open air - this is probably the closest equivalent "service" to what Airpark is offering, though it's a fair bit further away (BAP used to be the closest to the airport before they moved). I've used these guys a couple of times at their old location and before they changed to a self parking model, and had someone go through my stash of coins (audio captured on dashcam).
  • Gateway Airport Parking is $59 for open air parking.

If you have to catch a shuttle it doesn't seem much different to the other off airport options. BAP and Andy's have shuttles every 5 minutes for example.

    • Yes, hence:

provides the cheapest on airport parking option, though there are still cheaper off airport parking options if you don't mind the additional time/distance.

It's an additional option, which I suppose would suit those who may prefer an on airport parking solution that doesn't cost as much as the existing (multistorey) ones.

      I thought the same.. hahahaha

  • $69 for 1 week long term parking at Brisbane?

wow, I thought Melbourne was pricey ($79 for 7 days at Short Term Special or $48 for long term Special)!

    • Yeah pricey as… the only other option for on airport parking are the multistorey carparks beside the terminals. For these you're usually looking at minimum $99 for 7 days.

Some of these places do run specials/deals from time to time (as does Brisbane airport parking itself). You can also get additional discounts through things like RACQ which offers 10% off parking at Andrews or Gateway - not sure why their rates are so different for sister companies.
