Anyone know if this can hold LG G3?

    • Or iPhone 6

      • Will fit iPhone 6 as well, its wide enough

        • +1

          It says on the website:

          iPhone 3
          iPhone 4
          iPhone 4S
          iPhone 5 + 5S
          iPod Classic and Video
          iPod Touch 4
          iPod Touch 5
          Samsung Galaxy II
          Samsung Galaxy S II 4G
          Samsung Galaxy S III
          Samsung Galaxy S4
          Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini

You sure it will work for a 6? I'd love to get one

      • +3

I have one and it fits my iPhone 6+

        • Not too sure if it fits iPhone 6+ with an otterbox commuter case on…

    • +4

Yes, i am using my G3 with this holder, fits perfectly.

      • Thanks. Was just waiting for some confirmation. Can this be mount on dashboard.

    • I purchased one last time it was on sale for almost the same price and this thing was able to hold my Samsung Note 2 even with the flip cover folded back.

I would guess that an Iphone 6+ would fit and even possibly the Nexus 6 !!!

  • +2

    Found a spec stating width as 55 - 86mm
iPhone 6 plus for those interested is 78mm

Thanks op, been looking for a decent phone windscreen mount for a while.

    • Cool thanks.

  • Thnx
Just bought, hope its better then my $5 market oness

    • So what's the difference with the deluxe version? Worth getting over this?

    • +1

The $5.82 really is rubbish. I own one and just threw it away. It cannot stay up with the weight of my G2 in it. Always gets loose.

      • yeah, I had one and it keeps falling off. One thing to consider is this type of holder will be clumsy for phone that have buttons on the side as they tend to press the button (the cheap Lumia 5/6 series as an example). Not sure if it's the same for this holder.

    • i have 2 of 5.83$ ones and 1 of air vent. they all suck….

the 5.83$ one cant even resist the heat during summer time….it just deforms because the windscreen is too hot….

the air vent solution itself has big stability problem. it does hold, but that is it. As day goes by, you might want to check the air vent part see if any scratch has been made.

  • When I tried to Click & Collect with paypal option getting this error - Wrong PayPal Express Checkout Token specified.
Can someone help out here ….

    • +1

Try one more time. I had the same issue but after click on paying by paypal again and confirm in the paypal page again, it worked.

      • +1

Hmm - it's not offering me a click & collect option, only the $7.95 postal delivery option - any way to force it to offer C&C? They've got it on their eBay store with this but it's $39.95 there!

        • OK to answer my own question! Eventually got it to work by browsing deals for Cygnett, then going to 'check store stock' and then when found to be in stock adding to the basket from there - it didn't seem to want to offer C&C from the product page itself, only by doing it via search results.

        • @EDIflyer: I can't see any "check store stock"

        • @ammar: I couldn't see it on phone either before I tried on my laptop.

        • +2

I was checking on the laptop as well. Tried multiple times. It seems to me that I am missing something between the search results and clicking add to the cart as there is no option to check store stock while on the search results page. Are you able to provide a link? Thanks

        • @ammar: sorry it seems a bit inconsistent - probably worth trying in a new private browsing/incognito mode session on your browser. No direct link possible I'm afraid, it was just one of the options in search results.

  • Thanks OP! Just got one.

Bad reviews of a previous model here:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/151196

Seems it might melt in the heat :-(

    • thats an old model

  • How about this one? looks pretty sharp, not sure how it sticks to your phone though???
    LOGITECH +Trip Vent Mount
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/mobile-phone-mounts-stands/logit…

    • +1

      It's maaaag… net.

You stick one magnet plate on your phone (case). I believe it comes with 2 plates.

      Linky: Video Review

      • Does the magnet affect any components of the phone? I am sure there is nothing, but from all the trouble I had with CRT monitors and magnetic fields.

        • Can't say about the magnet, but the metal plate can interfere with NFC. Just place the plate in a spot where the NFC sensor isn't.
Logic suggests that the magnet will interfere with the compass and any apps that rely on using magnetic fields.

      • +1

Also becomes a problem during colder days, when you have to turn on the heater. Your phone will be roasting. It's like ambi pur vent mount. Starts to stink the car out and disappear when you have the heater on.

      • Lol thanks, I'll stick with the OPs original mount, would hate to have to get new mounts every time I get a new phone…

      • Sold out for a long time in Dicksmith

    • The problem with that is if you have a curved back or with a thick case like spigen is not gonna work. Sure it might have the adhesive stuff but that's a once off application

  • +2

I have one of these and also the Samsung "official" one for the Galaxy S4 - looks like they are identical units :)

    • If it's identical that's good news for S6 and S6 Edge owners as it will fit them without hitting buttons or obstructing the headphone port (which is on the bottom)

  • -moved to the right location

  • Looks like the little holding parts on the bottom would obstruct the ability for an AUX cable to be plugged in if the headphone jack is on the bottom of the phone? Any ideas?

    • +1

      bluetooth…

      Mount phone upside down.

    • Yes I agree with Saka - Why is that shipping charges - $ 7.95 is missing from Title - It is discounted at 50% and hence not a great Deal.. I'm buying a $10 product and Paying a 75% shipping charges on it..
      Not a deal

  • +1

I can't get it for click & collect either - once in cart, only home delivery is possible.

    • +1

Must have changed. C&C was working at 2.30pm when I purchased. Bummer.

  • +2

Same here. It is only showing "Home Delivery" and no option to select Click & Collect.

  • +1

    no luck with C&C

  • +1

I was in the store, he checked stock, finally found them, by the time I went to enter the order online, C&C disappeared as an option.

    ARGH.

    • how much was the store price? not 10.08?

      • 40bux and they aren't allowed to PM online pricing.

  • I bought 2 of these two days ago from DSE for $10.39ea. They work great :D

Anyone know the mounting laws with these mounts?
I bought one at the last sale. Got pulled over by a bored cop, marginally speeding, back from Buller who said it shouldnt be mounted as it was obstruction my vision. Had it mounted as low down as possible in the middle. Cop said I needed 11m?? clear view of vision or something like that, and because of the way my dash and screen was, I could have nothing mounted on my windscreen. Sounded like a load of crap to me. Been breathalyzed that many times and no cop has ever commented on the mount before

    • I'm pretty sure the new law is that it has to be on the side, so I think the issue was that you had it in the middle.

    • Wow that's new.

This is what written in: https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/safety-and-road-rules/driver…

Using a phone as a navigational device/GPS while driving is prohibited unless it is secured in a commercially designed holder fixed to the vehicle. All other functions (including video calls, texting and emailing) are prohibited.

      Motorcycle riders

  • dont have the need for one. but just bought one.
    damnit.

  • Anyone been able to find anyone else to PM as a C&C alternative? I tried OW & Telechoice but it didn't look like they stock it. staticice no good either.

  • +2

expired .. no click & collection option :(

  • +1

ive tried click and collect and not getting an option in the cart even though it says you can at the search screen. Trying different browsers etc..

  • +1

  • Do these fit well with those phone wallet cases?

  • Anyone from Mount Waverley want to buy in and we can split the shipping costs?

I am a pizzahut delivery driver, I need my phone to navigate as well as mount it to the car and take it off a lot of time during my shift. So the phone holder is kinda like a part of the chain during my work. So i have bought many holder in the past, so here is what i think:

For this kind of phone holder that has fixed mount slot, i really don't recommend it. Although the list seems long, but you know that is just the advertisement stuff. Always go those adjustable ones because

    1. They usually fits tighter means less "drop" or "come off" during your drive, and that is the last thing you want during navigation as it may cause huge problem(on free way about to choose path during rush hour).
    2. Not having a tight fit also can scratch your phone case if the connecting part isn't made of something soft.

There is even some holder that mounts to your air vent(the part guides the direction of where air blows"http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/z/bgoAAOSwR0JUNKif/$_12.JPG"), beware of those ones as the silicon on clamp part will be worn out and the metal part will scratch your air vent plastic!

For a phone holder, plastic and some silicon shouldnt cost more than 10 bucks. And there are plenty good ones on ebay where i got mine from. (i would rather buy 3 cheap one than something that cost the combine, because 3 of them will last longer than the good one.)

    http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMVgxMDAx/z/cssAAOSwEK9UDmn3/$_12.JPG

this is what i use. it can even hold something else like a cup. cost 3 bucks.

    • is this cygnett one a fixed mount? the description says its adjustable. I can't tell from the photo

      • it's adjustable

      • Just read the page again and my apology. yeah its hard to tell just from the photo tho…

Still..you dont need super quality to hold a phone tight. cheap chinese stuff is good enough for this kind of job. The extra money can get you a cable or cigarette slot charger. :)

    • +2

      Link please…

      • Sorry, but i am not sure if any webpage is allowed here, just search "phone mount" in ebay and look for the same one as this one

        http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMVgxMDAx/z/cssAAOSwEK9UDmn3/$_12.JPG

make sure its around 2~3 dollar for the epic.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTAwWDUwMA==/z/pw4AAOSw6EhUO0am/$_12.JPG this is also a very good idea if your dashboard is allowed(have the flat area to put it).

    • ah my sister put that in the car and wish she didn't, when you put the iphone it just shakes and whilst its small shaking, its enough to put me off when i'm driving so we put the old one back in

looks good but unless you don't mind the shaking when you put the phone then yeah

      • tell her to mount it so the base of it rests on the dash, this is how i mount all windscreen mounts and it reduces the shake considerably

        • yeah suppose can try this out

  • +1

Don't understand why this isn't mark expired or title changed. You CANNOT get it $10 anymore as it has to be delivered, with delivery cost ranges from $6.95

    • Please press the report button under the deal and let us know in future (as a member just did). We can't read every comment of every deal and rely on you guys reporting things so we can amend/expire as necessary. Thanks

  • no c & c is the deal breaker

    • last time I c&c'ed one of these the order went through but it wasn't actually at the store. lol at cnc

      • -1

the employee probably kept it for himself… lol

  • dam no CC..guess OP should change the title now

  • +1

I've tried a lot of different mounts, but this was defiantly the best - I've been using it for a long time now.

    HOWEVER:
Please be aware that when the car gets hot in summer (or you have it near a heating vent) the adhesive on the bottom will un-stick and it will slowly slide down the windscreen, leaving a horrible sticky adhesive mess as it descends.

    • i thought this is suction cup at the end, or you mean the heat melts the silicon part?
