Good find. I play this game all the time when my kids go to sleeep :). It is completely addictive and I recomend playing one of those maps that start with "gg" which I don't even know what it stands for. all I know is that when you die you just start again straight away and the maps are small so it is all about killing :).
The other advantage of CS is that it runs on my cheap computer since I cannot afford a gamer's machine. it runs fine on low end hardware that I picked up 2 years ago from anypc "which I will never deal with by the way"

CS is great, even in todays day and age. both 1.6 and 2, awesome! graphics still hold there own as well… another great game added to my steam collection of games!
yes steam works in Australia. you can buy games online with it, dont need discs to use it, can use it anywhere in the world, all you need is your usename and password then you can download your games.
only games i buy online, consider it better than buying the actual game retail as i can always download them even if i reformat/loose the backups!
Unless Valve go under and you loose all your games, such is the problem with DRM media.

I used to play original CS over ten years ago. I finally gave it up due to the rampant cheating.
One of the most addictive and fun games I've ever owned.
Hopefully cheating is still around. Gonna buy one and hack for fun :)

Can someone tell me how big the download is?
i'm guessing about 4gbs. if you have any other source games though like half life 2, it will be smaller as they share some files.
I checked my usage after installing and it took about 2gig of quota. Then the folder in the hard drive is about 4gig

Do remember that Steam will sometimes choose to download from a different server, even if you chose your ISP's server as the preferred download region. This will result in Steam downloading metered content, even if you don't want it to.
You can use Frey's Steam Filter to force steam to download only from a certain ISP

Theres a bug now and then . sometimes doesn't even take up any downloads with Telstra. :) i don't know why . my neighbour downloads all the games 4 me and puts in on CD as a favour . and hes only got a 20gig plan .
