Just a thought. Couldn't we get some more sponsors to chip in with more prizes?
OB has a very good reputation. Lot of people follow it. I am sure you would be tracking the hits. I have noticed now it is not uncommon to have more than 50 + votes for a bargain. Now there are a lot more store reps participating. Some of them recognize the value of OB community and offer excellent customer solutions or special concessions to OB community.

Yes. There are some limitations…
I know that all of them want to sponsor because of the relatively cheap spot they can get on the sidebar. I have at least one merchant contacting me each week offering to sponsor OzBargain weekly competition to get that exclusive spot, and I have to put them on some kind of queue. If the spot is rotated, the willingness will not be that high.
There will also be administrative overhead contacting all those sponsors, passing details around, etc. Some merchants are also not as trust worthy that I want to help them to promote. 9289/Jennica has been very good this year, ShoppingSquare/Danilo has been a regular at OzBargain, and TopBuy… Well we did have some problem with them :P
Anyway. I simply don't have time for it. Maybe next year. Maybe.
