  • Same promo at Woolworths months ago? How is the coffee quality?

    • Dunno if I'm just unlucky but every time I've tried Vittoria coffee it always tastes burnt.

Not as good as fresh beans and fully automatic coffee machines are cheaper in the long run, than pod machines.

    • Coffee quality quite poor tbh. Didn't like it personally.

I got this machine after my Caffitaly (map) broke. I bought every variety of pod to find which I preferred, I usually go for the strong varieties. In the end I found none of the pods matched the quality (strength/boldness) of the Gloria Jeans and Map pods I had enjoyed in the Caffitaly.

After a couple of weeks trying I decided to get rid of it. I now have a Nespresso Umilk machine (black Delonghi) which I had sampled using L'or pods at my brothers and was impressed. These pods are 40c each this week at Woolies. Im drinking more coffee than ever now…

    • which L'or pods do you get? Your tastes sound similar to mine

I like a long cup and have compared using the Lungo Profondo (rating 8) and the strongest rating 12 espresso called Onyx. I find them fairly comparable but I'd say I'm favouring the Lungo. Makes sense being designed for the long cup I suppose :). A double shot of Onyx was pretty good if you really want some flavour and kick in the long cup. The milk frother with the unit is great. Fast, good temperature and very easy to clean. I wasn't using a frother before, I was just adding a splash of cold milk, but I'm loving this frother.

    • Similar thing happened to me, over a few weeks I tried various coffees (FW, latte, cap, expresso, picolo latte) to find out which one I liked. End result, I'm drinking more coffee now that ever before… =)

I couldn't pass up the offer from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192126 but after trying every available variety I still prefer the Aldi blends. It was cheap enough to try and if your after some really cheap pods try these https://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/Shop/Search/Products?se… In my opinion they are as good as any in the range and at 23c a pod who can complain.

I bought this machine in that $36 Woolies deal, the one with the packs upon packs of pods. Also have been finding more pods for it on 'clearance' in other places. Cheapest coffee machine I've ever owned. I make two cups from the one pod (I have the second) so it ends up costing about 20c a cup once I put milk in.

Definately a good machine, I won't run out of pods but the Expressi machine from Aldi has gained my interest due to the fact it also allegedly takes Caffitaly pods as well

The fact that you make a second cup of coffee from a pod and can actually drink it makes me disregard anything else you said.

    • Each to their own… But mate: the second would be so blond that you're…

      Nvm. Oh dear

      • I don't care, I need it to take the edge off my migraines.

I would not recommend using cafittaly in aldi, they do work but they get stuck and if not careful the handle on the expressi will break

  • I saw a similar deal at a coffee/drinks store at the Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets, ~48 dollars for 6 packs and the machine.

  • Are vittoria capsules nespresso machine compatible?

    • These ones are smaller, would probably fall straight through.

    • I think they have a range that are specifically for Nespresso machines

      • The Vittoria ones are 1/2 the height of the Nespresso ones I believe.

But yeah, they also have ones that fit the Nespresso machines.
