Seems the battery on the car remote keyless is permanently stuck on the metal strip holding it. Tried prying it out but won't come out, like it's glued/welded to it. Are the remotes disposable?
Keyless Remote Battery Replacement - Stuck (Camry non-OEM)

Cheers. Replace the whole remote system including the one installed in the car, or just the remote that holds the key? And if replacing the remote only, is there a DIY for programming ther remote so it will work? Haven't seen the manual for the remote system
I think it depends how the key was manufactured.
For example, with our holden, i pulled it apart, and forced the tack off and replaced the battery. I was able to keep the key going for another 12 months, and then it eventually failed.
I gave in and bought a new key. In that case they require the keycode (usually a card in the owners manual), then when the new unit arrives they unscrew the key blade, and just bolt it into the new fob.
The metal strip is likely to be permanently welded to the battery, and then soldered to the PCB.

Just the key.
The manufacturers deliberately make these total-fail items because you'll likely go back to them to purchase a replacement.
As mentioned below there are third party options. I'd wager you'd need some fairly specific tools to code the new keys so I doubt this is a DIY job.

They're tacked, It is possible to pry them off, but you might be delaying the inevitable of just replacing the entire key.
