$0 iOS: myTuner Radio PRO (Alternative to TuneIn Radio Pro) Was $3.79

1180

You have to give this a go. I've been using it since it went free last night, and can't fault it. To me, the interface seems slicker and cleaner than TuneIn Radio Pro (which I purchased many years ago). You have nothing to lose, and I'm sure you'll agree it's a great alternative. This PRO version has no IAPs and ads are disabled. Please DO NOT download myRadio Tuner Australia as this is the always free version, with ads. Pricetracker here. Enjoy :)

With myTuner Radio PRO you can:

  • Listen to the best radios stations from more than 120 countries
  • Listen to over 30,000 radio stations
  • More than 1 million Podcasts with rankings per country
  • Record the stations in real time
  • Share using Facebook, SMS, Email
  • Add radio stations to your favorites list
  • Search by country, by genre, by format, by city
  • Listen to the radio in the background
  • Read the latest news about music
  • Listen to the radio with Air-Play and BT devices
  • Support for Apple Watch
  • No ads
  • No In-App-Purchases

  • Strange its only got 5 ratings ?

  • Was looking at my iPhone screen, but i've downloaded it and it looks good

  • Using your link I got a version that has Ads.
Does one have to do something else?

    • What's the name of the app you downloaded… myTuner Radio Pro, or myTuner Radio Australia?

      • +1

It linked me to the Australia version so I clicked on the developers apps link. The app isnt called pro until I download it then the apps name has pro in it.

        • +1

I think I've worked it out. The link I had was for the US store, and if you clicked on that via a mobile, it sent you to the Australian version of the app, not the PRO. Anyway, I've found the correct link and updated the post. Should all work fine now :)

The complexities of being an international bargain hunter hey ;-)

    (Alternative to TuneIn Radio Pro)

TuneIn radio allows you to setup a free account at www.tunein.com which allows you to save and group your favourite stations.

These can then be accessed on any iphone, ipad, android, tablet, pc/mac etc. that you own.

Does myTuner Radio do that ????

  • So this is only for apple ? Not android ?

  • Cannot get BBC Radio 4.

    • +2

      Cannot get BBC Radio 4.

Tap the search button (top right on iPhone) then type BBC. You'll see BBC Radio 4 is 3rd in the list :)

Wow @tightarse, support as well - you are a legend!

That works. I tried before but didn't see it. But as you say, it is there now, so all good.

        Thanks.

  • Tune In Radio has scheduled recording.

Can't see that this app has that feature.

Will stick with Tune In for now.

  • TuneIn Radio also allows you to set an alarm without having to allow Notifications, allows you to customise the Sleep setting, and gives you access to the upcoming Schedule of the station which is useful if you want to listen to a particular program. You can also choose the bandwidth of the station (based on what the station provides), rather than having to guess which is the stream you want.

MyTuner seems OK for basic functionality, but I'll be sticking with TuneIn as well.

  • Has less radio station in HK…

Will stick with TuneIn for now. Thx OP.

  • Can you copy recording onto PC with this? TuneIn Radio doesn't allow.

    • Good question. I just checked and no - you can't export the recording. I imagine that they prevent it to negate any copyright issues.

    • +1

I can copy the recording to PC (via iFunbox) and play it fine, it saves as an mp3 file type

  • I've noticed alot of the radio stations now only use IHeartRadio app?

    • Really? Which ones?

      • Can't remember if it was 96.1 or 104.1, but when I tried to go to them in TuneIn Radio - it said it's now accessible through iHeartRadio app

        • won't be 104.1, most likely 96.1 or 106.5

        • 101.7

  • Is this free because of iOS 9 making it redundant?

    • +1

Why, whats in iOS 9 that would make this redundant? I havent kept up with the iOS hype.

      • I think he is talking about Apple Music becoming a core service on iOS 9, with integrated music/subscription and all…

  • thanks for this mate!!

  • Thanks op.. Downloaded it..

Being a true bargain hunter , i don't have an overpriced Iphone. I have an android based phone, so this will not do me any good, but good find tightarse

  • No longer free…. Damn missed out….

  • I may be missing something obvious here, but how do you add a station to favourites?

    • Tap on the star, just to the right of the play button.
