Kogan Digital LCD Fridge Thermometer $5 Free Shipping (Was $25)

24

Checking Kogan out and saw this which seems cheap enough! Thermometer could be used anywhere I guess but designed for fridge.

From the online manual
"The thermometer is incredibly easy to use. Simply place the display unit onto the top of your fridge and then place the cord with the small metal temperature sensitive tip into the fridge itself. The door can be closed with the cord being covered by the fridge seals. The seals will surround the cord and provide adequate insulation to ensure temperature heat-loss does not occur. The display unit can be affixed to the front of the fridge door if you so wish, using double-sided adhesive tape or sticking gum. (Adhesive agents not included)."

Jaycar had a similar unit with an alarm. It worked great. The lcd panel looks identical.

    • ive had both, DEFINITELY very different and differently made. this one is no comparison

And which was the better one?

      • Which one is better? I used the Jaycar one for Distillation. It was great, until you dropped it.

funny enough i use mine for the same thing, and have been dropped several times with no issue. only drops they dont survive is into liquid.

the jaycar ones are better, but also many times the price, the jaycar has high and low alarms as well as hi/lo readouts as well as going above 70c (120c iirc) where as the $1 ones have none of that and only measure to around 70c

i use both for different things… all depends on what you need to do with it

sorry failed to check eBay :(

in any case someone might be interested in the product either source …

  • I've got two of them and paid way less years ago on ebay or deal extreme.

  • I got one for about $1.20 delivered from ebay a few years ago

  • Same quality from china.

  • These are $1 delivered on Ebay…just shows Kogan is making a profit even at $5!!

    • Where? Bargain! Normally $1.92 .

      • Seems the price has gone up 92c. I bought mine a few years back. In any case, $1.92 is better than a $5 "special"… :p

Hopefully you've learnt now to never trust Kogan for anything, ever.

    • Kogan has been scolded before by the ACCC for this sort of deception.
You could complain, but nothing ever seems to change. the small fines don't bother them.

I think the closest thing to this "once was $25" was once when it was 25 degrees.

Not a bargain price for professional ozbargainers

  • thanks guys for not over roasting!! defs not a bargain.
