  • For anybody interested in the printer, I would investigate toner costs firsts. It looks like a set of toner cartridges (2000 pages) will set you back more than the cost of the printer itself.

    • Also, I've found OfficeMax ridiculously expensive. Search around for better prices…

      • Hi JV, I'm new to the role so can't speak for history but would welcome any searches on prices on my clearance page. eg; Printer example on shopbot http://www.shopbot.com.au/m/?m=lexmark+cx410de

        • welcome any searches on prices on my clearance page

what about the items you normally stock ? they are pretty much more expensive than most other stores.

        • To be honest I haven't checked. I have been here 5 weeks with the sole purpose of clearing superseded and discontinued lines so that has been my sole focus. I guess that knowledge will come over time.

  • About PT1090, can you use generic label paper? What powers it? AA/AAA batteries? Internal battery and provided external power supply?

    • Hi Stevarja, have included a link to the PDF http://brother.com.au/brochures/PT-1090_Brochure.pdf. Power 6 x AAA alkaline batteries (not supplied) Optional AC adapter (AD-5000ES) can be purchased if required. I have talked to our buyer and she believes you have to use the specified tape.

      • Thanks for the answer, in market for label printer, however i need one that can print on generic label. Also AAA/AA requirement is awesome, however number 6 (instead of 4), that's what i hate. If you have something similar with those requirements and price (<$30), let me know!

  • You have this printer on eBay and only 1 in stock. Is that your total stock holding?

    • No, have just created the eBay account so am very limited on what quantities and values I can post until I prove myself on that platform.

      • this is true, ebay is a pain, you need to make more sales first to list more items.

  • To make it wireless, you have to spend $448 exclude postage? I personally will choose Brother MFC9330CDW for $387 at officeworks

    • You could use a $25 TP-Link WR702N or similar. Can be used to connect any wired-only Ethernet device to a wireless network.

      • I have unused wireless router at home, but that's mean more cables. For > $300, I think wireless is a standard feature nowadays.
