My trusty Lenovo T430 has just passed the two year mark and the battery is starting to show signs of age. It currently holds a bit under half of the design capacity and I've had notifications encouraging me to replace it.
I'm happy with an aftermarket battery, but with a plethora of suppliers out there, can anyone recommend either:
- a cheap, genuine Lenovo battery, or
- a reputable (and cheap) aftermarket battery that won't blow up or fry my laptop
Cheers guys
I have a T400 and am in the process of upgrading to a T430s. The T400 think pad can detect non genuine batteries and post annoying alerts every time the lap top resumes or has power connected. I believe later models may be even more particular about non genuine batteries to the point of not charging.
I suggest confirming with the vendor that the battery is compatible. Later model thinkpad batteries may have a security chip in them. Check the discussions on lenovo forums.
Sorry I cannot point you to a particular vendor.
