Mod: This site has been banned from future deal posts, this will only be reversed if mouse pads are received (highly unlikely). Whilst it appears the site appears poorly run, there is nothing to indicate it's a scam or fraud as such, needless to say removing a freebie 90 minutes after posting it is also not regular activity from someone trying to collect personal information or similar, neither is using PayPal on the website. Note that the whois information belongs to a privacy company and not the site owner, the website is also run through shopify.com which is a large and reputable shop front website. In regards to suspicious prices, the website is drop shipping items from bluelans, Aliexpress etc. See here here here here, which probably explains issues with order not being received as reported by one member. Offer was removed from the site some 90 minutes after posting and as moving this deal to the forum is irreversible we shall keep it posted as expired. Thanks

What's happening to me… it looks like a small business and I won't buy anything else from them so I'm not clicking 'yes'. Weird…

  • Done, too easy. Thanks OP.

      Quite.

      • Not even hissing sound?

    • That's for all the people who have been greedy and ordered more than one mousepad :)

  • thanks op - ordered (Order #4044)

  • +2

Thanks OP.. For anyone wanting to buy anything else use code MATTEY15 for 15% off

  • is this a legit site? the site looks dodgy to me. registered a couple of months ago

    • Just put everything as alias. Put your office address. Or your neighbour. Ask him nicely if he gets package under alias name.

      • nah, i'll give this a miss

  • Hmm strange, if you try to purchase something else (that isn't free) and click to pay with paypal, it says "Account is restricted". I know these mousepads are free, but doesnt this raise a question on how legit this store is?

  • +1

I give it a miss this time, as I don't like the grin on the website logo.

also: 'Be careful! The owner of this domain is using a service to hide their personal/company details.'

    • +1

I'd neg this deal if I were you. I blindly gave all my details. Feel robbed now.

      • So did I :( I got too excited and should have looked into it.
Interesting though the address is the same address as Tucows (a popular site) but they also host domain names. Don't think I can neg after already upvoting it :/

        • You can always Revoke your vote.

      • +2

Yeah pretty sure this is a scam now. The same owner (contact privacy) used to own another domain (BESTPART-LTD.COM)
See this posted in the " FAKE SITES USED FOR FRAUD " topic: https://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=65645 there's some weird photoshopped photos towards the bottom of the page.

        • Glad I didn't give my credit card details.

        • +1

          @rorymeister:

didn't need to give cc details to complete the order only delivery address

        • Contact Privacy are just a company who for a couple of bucks when purchasing your domain will hide your details, and show theirs instead. Not allowed for.au's though.

  • Ordered… but who seriously thinks were going to get one for free delivered.
I guess only time will tell!!

  • +1

sorry for derp but am I doing anything wrong?
comes up as USD $2.50 for me

  • Says $2.50 for me :(

    • same. got ozbargained :(

  • -6

    Costs $2.50

  • Would be nice if the deal is honoured but I seriously doubt the guy has over 1000 mouse pads on hand to send out plus all the shipping costs.

  • +2

the confirmation email for this order I got was from a Gmail account…

    "[email protected]"

    Oh dear…

  • +1

Neg, should move to forum like the other USA SIM card thingie?

  • +4

You know the site is dodgy when there's no information under CONTACT US and the ABOUT US page virtually has no information about the shop or business. The site looks like some thing quickly made from a template. It's a scammer site.

And yous fell for it. Probably gave away your personal info to a phishing scammer. Expect your email address to get spammed by dodgy emails.

  • +5

Will neg this, just because of the shady findings and as much as I want to promote small businesses, this owner has a history with scam sites.

  • I think this is the guy who scammed us playing the piano!!!!!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_cjSGt5j40
    Same email in the description

    • he took the video not the one playing

  • +1

What would they be scamming for? E-mail addresses? Physical addresses?
So they can send phishing scams?

    • They sell off your information to third parties who then spam you.

      • +1

Yes, I thought that would be the case.
But what would the third parties do? Send scammy letters? Send e-mails about sexy singles in my area? Is that about it?

I'm not thoroughly well versed in scamming…

        • Yeah that's about it send scammy emails.

        • @hollykryten:
Could be possible to commit identity theft with that info I guess :/

        • @jdogg:
But then who would put their real name for these freebies i put down first name Ben last name Dover for these freebie craps

        • +1

But what would the third parties do? Send scammy letters? Send e-mails about sexy singles in my area? Is that about it?

They could send you personalised spam emails that contain ransomware (ie. malware that encrypts files & then asks for a ransom eg. $500 to $1000, to decrypt the files)…
          http://www.staysmartonline.gov.au/alert_service/message?id=1…

Of course recipients are more likely to open a spam email if its appears to be from a company they know (eg. Telstra, the big banks, etc) and it's addressed to them using their real name.

  • +3

    Dodgy.

  • Good thing I used all my work details…

  • Fuar I used my real details :(

  • +1

Ordered and paid for item in March. No item delivered and nothing in my account. In the hands of PayPal at the moment. Saved webpage with my order details and sent that to PayPal.

  • A quick Google search of the last few lines of the description bring that same mouse pad up on many different websites…

  • This site looks similar as well!

  • About us is copied off ebay

  • I can see a lot of people are going to soon be turning their positive votes into a negative.

  • +1

177 + votes for spam? Wow.

  • regret handing over my details for this..

  • Someone claims to have gotten a virus from this
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195565

    • Anyone else experience the same thing?

      • I dont think the problems is from the website, apparently the some of these viruses have a delay fuse to confuse you about where the virus came from. Its possible that OP happened to be on the website while the virus was finally triggered, thus leading OP to think its because of the website.

        • I'm so anxious now after reading that post about the virus… Sorry for total derppp but I just don't know enough about this, could this affect a Macbook?

        • @mk:

Not sure, I'm no expert but I don't think so…

Just be careful of what you download, from websites and emails.

A friend of a friend downloaded what she thought was a pdf but was infact a exe. Something like file.pdf.exe

  • oh shit

  • OMG…I am stupid as hell…I ordered without thinking because it was on Ozbargain… :(((

    • Me too :(

    • -2

Did you receive virus as well?

  • +1

"There is no virus activity on this site, it's run through shopify.com after all so not even possible unless a user actually installs something through 3rd party communication received from site. " - from an OzB moderator.

  • -1

    Has anyone received theirs yet?

    • -1

Think everyone decided it was a scam
