3 years later similar products will cost less than half of $1389….

I paid $4000 for 80GB of Fusion-IO Server grade PCI Flash 4 years ago, so that probably about right!

    • And products with 2x storage and twice as fast will cost this much.

    • +25

Agreed - but can you wait 3 years :)

      • thats what most ppl here in ozb will do, we wait even if its just to save a dollar :)

with that logic you'll never buy anything..

        • believe it or not, that is one of the main arguments against deflation. if prices are going to be a few percent cheaper next year, people won't buy, and the economy will collapse, However flawed that is.

your computers will almost absolutely be worth far less next year than this year. And yet people buy computers! so are people crazy?

        • Zorba, is that you?

    • +9

Yes, technology decreases over time. What's your point? A person or business who needs this right now isnt going to get one in 3 years.

    • Sometime early around 2000-2005+- i paid $200 for a 1gb memory card for my nokia phone.

      • +3

        I paid around $300 FOR A 128mEG SD card.
Compaq were the only ones in Aust and had to wait to get them in. every one was using Compact Flash.
That was 2001 and for my PocketPC.(which was $1299)

    • I just find that rich coming from someone with an Apple avatar.

It says " Only 1 left, be quick." I think that's against Ozbargain rules.

    This looks like advertising.

More stocks had just arrived and our web page hadn't been updated yet.

Fair enough, staticice is reporting best price, seems like a deal.

  • wow…now we need Samsung to offer a competitive product.

  • is this 1st gen release?

  • Hi Rep, any deals on the 750PCIe 400GB?

    • +6

We have those at $565 - cheapest in Australia, but not OZbargain worthy!

      • +2

Thanks, you do know us well!! but might have to wait the customary 3 years required by all OzBargain tech purchases for it to come down to my price;)

bought one last week but damaged the pins trying to jam it in my netbook.

      funny guy here

      • +2

i thought so, no one else did.

      wtf netbook

  • +1

Can you run these in Raid 1? :D

  • +1

    all things considered,

That's not too bad a price for a PCI SSD, they used to be much much more and already getting close to $1 per gb

If I was to buy a new PC this would be on the menu :)

    • What type of computer would you be building with the SSD more expensive than most computers? o-o

      • +3

One where you need quick access to lots of porn

Some older folks like me who have fulltime jobs and disposable incomes and have been buying PCs since a good one cost $2000 - $4000 just go a bit nuts for the latest shiny thing…

        • ^ Apart from the old part pretty much,

My current PC was aprox $1.5k with some cut backs, next one will prob be $2-2.5k at a guess

  • FYI: Around $32 extra if paying by credit card.

Some points to note for buyers:

You need a CPU that can handle a lot of lanes to get the maximum performance out of it. For Example if you have a Z97 Mobo with 2 graphics cards in SLI , you prob wont be able to get the most out of this drive because the number of available PCI-e lanes will limit its speed. I think X79 and X99 Mobos with 40 lane CPU can handle this with dual graphics card, Hell even Raid 2 of these with 2 graphics cards.

  • It's interesting but do older M/Bs support booting from PCIE?

    • I would think that your board would need to support 'NVMe' for you to boot from them.

  • I case any are wondering this will boot of Asus X79 MB which is PCIe Gen3.0 ready. Purchased the Intel 750 400GB version installed easy just need to load the Intel 750 SSD PCIe windows driver during Windows install.
