OZB-SOS-AVENGERS-SAVE-25.88

Hi fellow Ozbargainers :) As part of our introduction to the Ozbargain community we would like to offer (limited stock) Marvel Avengers Battle for Earth for the Xbox 360 console (Kinect) at a rather special price. Last deal sold out in a few hours, so please be quick, and share if you like it - thanks guys!

  • Deal (must use coupon code) saves $25.88 off our already discounted price, as listed in detail below, so you pay under half price, a total of just $18
  • Postage is usually $4.90 for orders under $50, but this deal provides free standard shipping

(See deal for full product information)

  • Deal shipped from Sydney to Australian addresses only
  • Official Australian Edition (may be valuable to collectors, because most other sellers provide import version only)
  • Total price $18 (using coupon code)
  • Free off-peak shipping to any Australian address. We also offer Priority shipping including extra packaging + * shipping insurance at a reasonable price, which is faster. See item for full details.
  • Valid until 31st May 2015 (unless sold out prior)
  • Limited stock, maximum one per customer
  • Brand new and factory-sealed
  • sellingoutsoon.com.au reserves the right to end this promotion early, for any reason, with no prior notice

To help with competitive pricing information, this is what we found including cheapest shipping to Australia, total in $AU, current at time of writing:

Amazon UK $46.18
Amazon US $28.78
EBGames $30.50 (preowned)
GameSeek $80.22 (temporarily out of stock)
MightyApe (no stock)
JBHiFi (no stock)
PlayAsia $78.07
sellingoutsoon.com.au $43.88 (now $18 with coupon code)

Notes on pricing: Australian RRP is $49.95 (Of course, no self-respecting Ozbargainer pays RRP…this just for informational purposes :) Major retail is finding this title hard to supply, best alternative pricing is online as per above, with at least 2 online shops selling the imported product for significantly more than our official Australian one)

Reviews:
Metacritic - 7.3 (User score)
Amazon.com 4.3/5 stars

Another amazing not deal from these guys…. this game is complete bargain bin fodder that I've seen for $5 in clearance bins. If you really want it, go to JB HiFi or EB Games and look in their bargain bins.

    • +2

No disrespect (I'd appreciate the same in return please), but I don't see any evidence of that and we really looked. Our last deal sold out in a few hours, and the one before that sold out in 29 minutes. I think this shows that many people see value. To be frank, and I don't have to say this, but a lot of people bought our last item, even after the deal was over, which shows that our original price was good, even for OzBargainers! Since even ebay sells this one for nearly double the price of our deal, let's do a comparison in real-time. Here's an accurate rundown of the stores that haven't got it at any price, let alone a bargain price:

      MightyApe (no stock)
      OZGameshop (no stock)
      Dungeoncrwal (no stock)
      CheapGames (no stock)
      JBHiFi (no stock)
      BIG W (no stock)
      Target (no stock)
      Kmart (no stock)

I'm not being in any way mean, I just appreciate comments about price being backed up with (a) facts, and (b) proof of (new) stock. Thank you for reading my comment.

Your PS4 game was a really good deal. I would have bought it.

But you advertise bargains like this, Cubic Ninja, and Metal Gear Solid 3D, which are absolute howlers!

If you can keep up actually decent deals like you did with the most recent previous item, people will respect you and buy from you.

But nobody wants crap games at actually inflated prices. :)

        • I'd agree with a lot of what you said there. Thanks for being nice about it. Honestly, it's a bit of each to their own. Frankly I'm not so much into every game out there, but I have heaps of friends who like this, and thousands of pretty reasonable people seem to enjoy too. Pretty good user reviews! Maybe just not for you, and that's OK :) so…why didn't you buy the other scorching hot deals we did??

@sellingoutsoon: Hey selling out soon, I remember seeing this exact game at my local JBHIFI in a Clearance bin for around $5, not too long ago.

        • -3

@bargin193232222: Thank you for your reply. We have been informed by 2 buyers this week that JB may have been guilty of selling used games as new. Not being disparaging of any retailers, but is this anyone else's experience? (because it is illegal)

        • +5

@sellingoutsoon: I've personally never experienced nor heard anyone talk or complain about jb selling used games as new.

        • @sellingoutsoon: Are u able to provide proof of that?

        • -1

@bargin193232222: one of the buyers of two of our deals we've recently posted emailed us pics (we didn't ask for them, but it was interesting to see) and another buyer of ours said the same thing in the same week. Not bagging JB (at all) just showing that there is often more to the story, and often bargain bins are full of trade-ins, we've never seen it new for less than $18, that's why we're the lowest price.

        • @sellingoutsoon: In my opinion I think you're just making this up.

        • @bargin193232222: Hang on a minute…aren't you the guy that asked us one time: 'Why so cheap?'? So if our price is too low, you complain….and if you think you've seen it cheaper (when all the proof shows otherwise) then you do the same? Ever had anything positive to say? Are u able to provide proof of that?

        • +1

@sellingoutsoon: hey, we're talking about this deal not the others, your two previous deals were excellent, but this is not.

        • -1

@bargin193232222: well, let's see if one of the buyers in question wants to pipe up…then you'll know for sure. Unless they['re making this up too. Maybe this is all a dream, and we're all making OzBargain up?!

        • +1

@sellingoutsoon: was it the same game or clearance bin item?

        • @sellingoutsoon: good luck on the sales

        • +1

          @bargin193232222:
I have personally bought old games from job hifi that were supposed to be new but had scratches etc from being played. They may have just mis- sorted them.
I would be careful of their older 'new' games.

        • just because you've seen a game cheap in the past does not mean it needs to be cheap at present. An example is I could have bought apple shares a few months ago for $10 cheaper than it is today..

  • +1

Great price! Not a bad website experience either. Blind buy for me, based on reviews and price! Thanks OP!

    • Thank you! And If you want to get our best deals before everybody OzBargains them… please subscribe to sellingoutsoon on OzBargain: and then click on the little subscribe button :)

  • Thank you OzBargainers :) for such a quick response! Just got a report back that the code is back working again. Who's going to get one of the remaining few for under half price?

  • +1

I work at JB and yes it was brand new clearance at $5 awhile back. It won't be on the JB site as clearance stock never is, but I'm pretty sure you could still chase one up if you asked, but I don't like your chances. If not you could probably get a preowned one still really cheap, if you were desperate for it, not that you should as it's a pretty bad game. Oh and just for the record we never sell 2nd hand games as new, ever. Oh and the reason why no one has stock is because everyone cleared them all out super cheap to get rid of them ages ago, as with all the old 360 Kinect games.

    • Thank you for your comment, Mr Brinks. Which store? I'm sure you are honest about what you're saying, but it seems strange that two buyers said the same thing to us (unsolicited) in the same week. I'd normally not know of such things myself except it was mentioned by someone annotating comments, and if it hadn't have come up twice it possibly wouldn't have been mentioned. Must have been different stores than yours. My experience is limited with JB, although I've usually not experienced anything of that nature myself, everything I've bought over the years was new, except a security camera which was 'refurb' but not noted as such on the box.

      • +1

Isn't it just strange that you recieved two messages from two buyers out of the blue saying they bought games from jb which were labeled as new when they were used… Just a coincidence when I say jb have them for $5 on clearance.

        • Yes, but in no way vindicates any assertion as to the veracity of a claim contrary to what we've represented.

      • I've been at JB for 10 years and worked at lots of stores and I'm telling you it doesn't happen. Why would you sell a 2nd hand game as new anyway?

        • Thank you for your reply Mr Brinks. This is in no way disrespectful, it did happen to two separate customers. I'm no statistics expert, but if two isolated incidents in different states from people who ostensibly don't know each other, then it may be happening more than is immediately apparent, albeit demonstrably not in your store.

  • Last deal on the vita game was great but this is just a game you always see in the bargain bin straight up junk. but last 2 deals were very good op

    • Hi Pops 420, thank you for your comment. We can only go on actual user reviews: here's what Metacritic and Amazon says:

      Reviews:
      Metacritic - 7.3 (User score)
      Amazon.com 4.3/5 stars

  • Oh and yes, I checked at work and you can still buy it at JB for $5 and there's some stock around. If you're desperate for it go into a JB and ask them to transfer one.

    • -2

I asked which store before, but you didn't reply. If we can buy 200 (new and sealed) from JB for $5, then we'll offer them on here for $4. Guaranteed. If sellingoutsoon doesn't agree, I'll pay for it myself.

      • +1

        why 200 copies?

        • Because we want to serve as many people as possible.

        • -1

          @sellingoutsoon: pfff, what's the point.

        • @bargin193232222: Of "wanting to serve as many people as possible", or "serving as many people as possible"?

        • @sellingoutsoon: why don't u do it then

        • @bargin193232222:What a marvellous, positive suggestion, thank you for asking and for showing so much interest in what we do, what JB does, and how sellingoutsoon can better serve the community through driving value. I thought it was fairly obvious what the offer was, but am happy to explain it in more detail if it helps you. Interestingly, JB said on their website they don't have any stock at all. Is there any valid reason not to believe a prominent retailer such as JB? Contrary to this official information, however, a person claiming to represent JB (but who has yet to identify themselves or which store, unlike yourself Mr Jong!) proclaims that not only do they have brand new and sealed stock of our item, but at a lower price. I sincerely believe this sellingoutsoon.com.au deal to be offering the best value on this item in Australia, and most likely anywhere else selling PAL product. Sellingoutsoon seeks to provide this value to as many people as possible. So I have reopened the deal until the end of May, 2015. And because as there is no real evidence that JB's website is wrong (why would it be?) I have made an offer (ex-gratia to my position as rep, but not necessarily exclusive) for someone to provide me with 200 copies of the game (must be the official Australian version, brand new and factory-sealed as this offer is) and if they can do that, we will not only pay the claimed & ascribed aforementioned value of $5, but sell it for $1 less per unit per person in the interest of serving buyers better! (and if sellingoutsoon doesn't agree for any reason, I'll pay for it myself). I am willing to effectively bet that such a claim cannot be substantiated at reasonable scale. Some may see it as standing behind one's deal…which it is, but it's also getting people to put there money where their mouth is, which is what people like myself do every day. Which is why I am happy to represent sellingoutsoon.com.au who don't seem afraid of offering true value. By extension, such an offer will prove that sellingoutsoon.com.au is in fact the lowest price on this (new) item in Australia (realising that one major retailer even offers this product used for nearly double what sellingoutsoon.com.au sells it for new!) But to make it more interesting for you, Mr Jong (since you have showed so much interest in pricing to the extent of sending personal messages to us on OzBargain about why our prices are so low and where we get our stock) here is your chance to earn some real money by doing something positive yourself, as opposed to just typing, whereupon on successful completion, I will provide you with a commission for your efforts, of $88.88. You will need to be over 18 years of age, and meet any obligation required to deliver 200 units of verifiably authentic stock to Sydney. The unverified representative of JB suggests that a "store transfer" may be made, presumably at no cost, so this shouldn't be hard to do, and should be at no net cost either. And again, if sellingoutsoon doesn't wish to participate, I'll pay for the stock myself, and your $88.88 commission for services rendered. This is a serious offer. Whoever gets it done first, wins the $88.88. However it cannot be done, or is simply not done, then one may surmise that sellingoutsoon.com.au is in fact the best value on this title, in the world. I couldn't be being more fair in saying so, taking the time to write this detailed explanation, or by offering you or anyone else $88.88 for doing precious little. Why can't I do it myself? Because then it wouldn't be a game, it would not be verifiable without the possibility of collusion and frankly I don't think it can be done, but unlike some others…I am willing to put my own personal money where my mouth is. Are you?

        • @sellingoutsoon:

Reply to what you have said

          1. What are u on about?

          2. If that Happened then it must of been a mistake by the person at games, I'm not concerned with anything and your assumptions are incorrect, I'm not trying too do anything.

          3. Stop claiming to be the cheapest in Aus when it can be found cheaper elsewhere

So, were they clearance items? We're they the same game? Huh

  • -1

Lower deal than ours unverified. Like rumours of sellingoutsoon selling Witcher 3 for $21.
    2. (Regarding your previous comment which OzBargain unpublished…) Nobody said anything about anybody PMing me, except you William. As I actually said, I heard about it, and it definitely happened, unless both buyers who are in different states and have no connection are lying, although one emailed pics, anothwr OzBargainer confirmed above, and I bought a new camera which was a refurb, but sold as new. And it happened more than once. But it is still unclear how any of this concerns you? Are you sockpuppteing, or have a secret agenda?
    3. (Regarding your previous comment which OzBargain unpublished…) That's a bit rude William! On OzBargain, I'm not sure you are allowed to say things like that to other members… Maybe you could think positive things, focusing on what is good and constructive. (Maybe that is why Ozbargain deleted your previous comment?)
    4. (Regarding your previous comment which OzBargain unpublished…) I am not arguing about the actual game, personally I wouldn't know :) However, one buyer just bought a carton (25 units), possibly to resell since he often buys in bulk and is a professional seller. Is he wrong about the game, or is it possible that he knows something you don't?
    5. Would you please stop arguing about things that are not a part of your daily business? If you would kindly not answer any of this, it would he most appreciated. Because there is other stuff to do on OzBargain, lots of very interesting stuff to read and participate in, via this amazing community. Thank you.

    • I bet u bought 20 copies for $5 each and selling them here for $18 plus post, lol.

      • Haha William, perhaps you could get a job in the game industry to see how it really works. Buying 20 of something from a retailer (who blatantly says on their website that they don't actually have it…) to then resell is more of a Broden-to-ebay type action :) not something an authorised seller does. We're not afraid to lose money on occasion, we've already achieved the lowest price in the world on a few items for our valued OzBargainers, in exclusive OzBargain deals. I do remember your complaint on one PS4 deal: "Why so cheap?" when others thought more positively, and just bought it. And after receiving their item they will be pleasantly reassured after noticing that what they got was exactly as described, new Australian version, factory-sealed, delivered free. That's what sellingoutsoon does best, and what OzBargain is about, I think: bringing true value to as many people as possible. Not everyone will like every deal, but if there are limited quantities, then as long as the people who want it get it, then other opinions may be less important. You see, William, it's always easy to type smart-arse comments, like kids do on Youtube, it's actually pretty good when it's funny, but not when it's not. And we're here to provide value. Our actual buyers would agree that we do what we say. That's why they buy, anyone who has bought one of ourOzBargain deals on sellingoutsoon.com.au , please feel free to confirm, if you want to :)

        • As I already said , your two past deals were great but this one isn't and how is Saying "why so cheap" a complaint?

        • @bargin193232222: William, pragmatically, all the buyers seemed to like it, and one gentleman purchased a whole carton. This conversation seems to have run it's course. Thank you for your opinions, let's just leave it at that. Enjoy your weekend, there is fresh air outside!

  • This website is for people to post bargains and if someone sees it cheaper they post it, that's how it works, don't go getting angry and calling people liars when they do just that. The fact you represent this company and show such immature behavior is very unprofessional. The fact is you can and have been able to get this game cheaper, just accept it and move on.

JB does have it for $5, just because it's not on the website doesn't mean anything, they don't post every single item they sell on the site. Especially clearance stock where there's not much stock left. Why does it matter what JB store I work in anyway? It's none of your business anyway.

    • -1

Yes, agreed. Please remember that this is not an argument, or personal in any way. In fact, I agree with the premise behind much of what you've said. However, to be fair to everyone equally, you also made representations on behalf of JB, and it is only fair and pragmatic to seek verification of those representations. Otherwise falsehood may be represented as truth. And nobody wants that. Clearly, we can verify what we know, but for what we don't know we rely on verifiable sources and information posted by the company themselves online. Anything outside of that (or different to what their website says) takes more time and other forms of verification.

Secondly, the reason you were asked about which store you worked in Mr Brinks, is for the reason above: to seek validation of the claim, so we could do something about it if we were wrong, not on the basis of conjecture or argument, but verifiable fact. Again, it's not personal, every time anybody says anything, they should be subject to reasonable, but fair and good-spirited scrutiny. It seems the only way to divide truth from fiction.

Thirdly, the only stores in Australia that are known to have stock were (in order): Warringah Mall, Blacktown, Thomastown, Brisbane, Sunshine, Waurn Ponds, and two stores in Western Australia. We have an external consultant who checked, and it appears that of the 9 that were available Australia-wide, all except one was either without a box, or had been scratched.

So there was one available in Australia, for $5, and so in honour of that no longer available, we will offer one to someone else, in the same condition (which is not sealed), for $3.47, to honour (and possibly go further than) our promise. I think it should go to one of our current buyers of our other deal. So we'll offer it to them first, on our other deal page, and they can verify whether we actually did it or not, keeping everyone honest.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, it is meant both sincerely and respectfully.
