      The article refers to vulnerabilities, not viruses.
      Anti-Virus software does not protect against vulnerabilities for any operating system (that is the responsibility of the vendor).

      The design of Mac OSX makes viruses difficult to produce and propagate on the platform:
      * Unix security
      * Apple GateKeeper
      * Java and Flash are blocked via Xprotect
