There is nothing on the JB HIFI website that suggests this is for the Pro. It states Macbook. Title correction please.

I have a 09 MacBook Pro 13" A1278 but not unibody.. I'm assuming they came out in both that year?
It might be compatible with more… but from my googling this is what I found… anyway, if it turns out to be incompatible… pretty sure you can ebay/gumtree it for the same amount (or more)…

Presumably it's an external battery that plugs into the magsafe connector and sits below the macbook
I know the first gen unibody still had user replaceable batteries but from my version onwards it's all in built? and it's black from last time I opened up the case.

yes this is correct. these batteries are for the Late 2008 model Macbooks which were the only unibody models of macbooks.
I have one of these as a spare laptop so was happy to get this deal as my battery is slowly dying.
I'm thinking there's a chance that the image JB HiFi are using is wrong…

People this is only for those with laptops with a LATCH on the bottom. If your only has screws, then you cannot use this battery. If you have a late 2008 unibody macbook pro or macbook (aluminium ones) - you may be able to use this.
