I'm not sure that's a good idea - they suggest using a US-based proxy (like DTunnel) to buy stuff off Steam. That means you'd be entering your credit card details into some random site and hoping they don't misuse them. Yes, it uses SSL - but the SSL tunnel's only to DTunnel, meaning they can read whatever you type.
Your cc will be protected by fraudulent purchases anyway, don't be so paranoid!
Having just had a $3 fraudulent charge on my card thanks to a certain bank handing out sequential credit card numbers, let me tell you - it's a real pain in the neck to fix. Their anti-fraud team caught it immediately and reversed the charge, but it took them ages to organise a replacement card, at which point they sent me three different cards and now I have two separate PINs, all for the one account. Yay, St George!
Plus, if you hand out your CC# to some random website I'm pretty sure you'll be on the hook for the charges - you're supposed to take reasonable measures to keep the number secret.

I followed the instructions to the civ 4 pack a while ago. Now I just use an SSH. I didn't have any issues before. There are others besides dtunnel. You could always use an old school proxy as long as its not transparent to place your order.

Come on now, this wouldn't have happened if the mods would have just stickied the original in the first place. I've said this time and time again with all the individual deal postings.

why do you need to use a tunnel anyway to get the prices.. aren't the special prices available to us anyway regardless?
