Are these not just the sets you can commonly find at $2 shops for around this price point?

    • Hey you may be right I don't know. I've had my set for about 25 years, but I got sick of looking at the missing one and broken one so I thought for $2.22 I'd see if they were a match for replacement.

    • That set is much better. You can get a better grip and apply a lot more force. Also has a bunch of Torx tips if you ever need to take apart something like a phone.

I have the simpler/smaller version of it they were selling around 2007.

I bought a set off them the other day for $1.20 to get my order above $99 for the $25 off. The box is different from the one pictured though.

    • Not a bargain after all. My bad.

      • Eh let the people decide. Besides, it's not about what you could have got it for, it's about what you can get it for.

This is a decent kit 30-Piece Mini Bit Set with Handle $8.93

  • Back when I worked at Dick Smith I think we used to sell these for $2.

    This isn't a deal. It was 1.20!!!!!!

This set looks very similar to my previous couple of sets made of soft metal hence the points chipped and twisted, they all went quickly into the big and got replaced by Stanley set http://www.bunnings.com.au/stanley-6-piece-precision-screwdr…. Can't be happier, much better to hold and solid.

    • I have the same set, and the same problems, some even snapped in half.

These are ok for light stuff - but dont expect to get any torque out of it with the thin handle. It is useless to open up screws that have Loctite in the threads.

My set of these are junk. Not worth the $2 I paid for them!

The inside is too loose and when you try to undo tight screws the handle simply twists and the driver part stays still.

Splurged $16 on kinchrome from Bunnings much nicer set.

  • I used to get this set from top bargain store.

they do no really work well, this time, i trust DS

  • I'm not sure why I received so many negative votes. This was for 1.20 (NOT a special). If you're in doubt simply google "Dick Smith 6pc Jeweller's Screwdriver" and click on the cached version!
This is the SAME catalogue number T4360!

    • A fair percentage of people are idiots. You ha e just experienced a perfect storm :-)

  • If a screw is on tight, you will get blisters trying to remove it. The grip on these screwdrivers are bad and your fingers wont like it.

    Please do not buy them.

You can find a better set on eBay for a little more.

    • If only you guys had used my set (the 25 years old set) - looks just like these but appearances are obviously where it stops. Mine are amazing, certainly I only use them for the computer and hobby jobs - specifically where I don't want to over-tighten stuff and where things generally aren't over-tightened in the first place. I've always loved mine. That said mine are made to quality, driver heads are in as good shape as they were in ~1990 (except one of the baby ones I snapped last year).

None of this relates to this deal as obviously these are nothing like the 16pc set I currently own. What I am wondering is where I can get a similar set, doesn't have to be the same style but a set I could hope to last for at least half as long as my current one has (so I'm happy to spend $30-50 for it)

      Any thoughts anyone? :)

PS: I didn't buy my own posted deal thanks to the comments shared here.
