Samsung Tab3 7inch 8GB $99 @ Coles.
Not sure if this is a good deal but compared to the coles pendo pad for 89$ @ coles.

PHOTO?
Runs on 1GB RAM and the Marvell PXA986, with 8GB storage. Seems like it would be a bit underpowered for a tablet.
Any good for Kids?
only good for kids
Not my kids - any application lag would drive them nuts.
I can come visit your kids if you want,
'Back when I was a kid, we had a Commodore 64 that took over five minutes to load a program off a tape AND you had to enter basic to get it to work!'
@kronicmacstigator:
But then being introduced to the convenience of installing a game via only 5 floppy disks!
@kronicmacstigator:
"What's a 'tape', uncle kronicmacstigator?"
Man I hate this name… I had to come up with something random. I actually, no BS. Got banned from a Coles store because I only went in to pinch all the clearance bargains…
Depends on kids and parents. Each of my kids have one and for movies, music, free apps off Amazon, etc. they're fine. I also leave them disconnected from the net. Very occasionally they ask about a particular app (seen on friends' devices, etc.) that might only be on iOS or work on newer/better androids but when they're presented with the option of what they have vs nothing they soon get over it.
Another $99 option is a Lenovo at TGG, with IPS display.
No need to touch pendo at these prices.
Whatever you buy, check it can be rooted, so you can remove the bloatware.

Apparently the Vivante GPU is pretty bad too, easily surpassed by the Lenovo's Mali450. +1.
How about this HP?
1280x720 IPS, Allwinner A33

"Not sure if this is a good deal"
Then you should have posted it in the forums first.
Just saw the specs… ouch, can buy better specs from China. That's why it's so 'cheap' for Samsung :)
