same, heaps lame aye, ah well playing dragon age origins in the ps3 kept me busy anyway, iv bought a game everyday lol L4D not 2 bad, L4D was good 2, but didn't have enough in my paypal

  • css isnt popular anymore, unless your back in the year 1998.

    • Yes it is. Fire up your Steam application and look at the number of servers there are for CSS… literally in the thousands.

    • css was made in 2007. game mechanics are totally different.
up until now, theres no real multiplayer fps, that isnt similar or a clone of a game made in 1998.
everything is just a rework of quake or cs with different settings and graphics.

personally id rather spend $10 on cs than something like l4d which limits the number of people and is just a playthrough of the campaign (which has hardly any replay value) and limited custom maps.

i spent $13 the other day at a netcafe with 3 other friends and we finished the entire l4d game. it was goddamn fun. but for $8 u can buy the game now. even so i still wouldnt buy it because it would be the same thing again.

cs is different and actually requires a significant amount of skill that can be constantly fine tuned. it tests real fps skills to a certain extent.

i find games like COD are only good for singleplayer. the gun mechanics are too dumbed down.

im interested in what you find to be a good game (i dont mean that as a remark, im actually open minded) as i am seriously bored to death these days and really need something fun to play. i want cs because at sale prices it is the best bang for your buck game that you can spent some time on without being bored.

      • Why get annoyed at Steam? CS:S is $20. You're stressing yourself out and wasting your time over $10 (assuming you're after a 50% discount). It's been out for ages yet you still won't get it cause of $10? You could have spent that $13 you spent at the netcafe towards CS:S. CS:S is an awesome game but it's strange how someone won't pay $20 for it despite praising it for its replayability and saying it's worth buying unlike L4D. If it's such a good game I'm puzzled as to why you haven't bought it yet. IMO $20 is more than reasonable for CS:S. Do you play it at the netcafe or something?

L4D is fun and even thought the core content is lacking, there's a lot of replayability to have with it. Also, playing the game through with your friends isn't the entire experience. You've forgotten about versus mode which is heaps of fun and is NOT the same thing over and over again since you're vsing people with different skills.

        • i wont comment anymore about l4d cause thats just the way i feel about it and ultimately it will affect whether i buy/play it again.

as with cs 50% is alot. even if its just $10. tbh i normally dont buy games until ive played it, found it great and worth paying for and has great replayability and most importantly online play worth paying for.

if it was 50% off i can buy 2 copies. or another game. so why should i have to pay $20?

no matter how great a game is, i really cant justify paying more than $15 for any game.

          • @furythree: Ok but I think that's a pretty weak argument. You could say the same thing to anything in our lives about not buying it till it's 50% off since you could buy 2 copies. "I won't buy this microwave until it's 50% off cause then I could buy 2". Things don't necessarily work that way. Sure you can wait but I mean, if a game is that much fun to you then I hardly see how a $20 price tag doesn't justify buying it at full price. Games sell for as much as $100 so setting the budget to $15 is going to make buying games pretty difficult TBH. There are a lot more expensive things in life. Going to see a movie costs more than $15 and this is only for 2 hours of entertainment. CS:S can give you god knows how many hours of entertainment. I personally wouldn't pay any more than $30 for a PC game but hey, everyone's different.

          • @furythree: You'll miss out on a lot of good games if you aren't willing to spend more than $15 on them.

      • I played L4D for awhile. The co-op campaign is fun for a while but the real replay value is the multiplayer. The game mechanics of the muliplayer are very different than most FPS. Playing the hunter on the zombie team is fun. gotta agree with manbearpig. I bought the game when it came out for full price and I feel that I got my moneys worth. Now its got even more content and modes than it had when it originally came out.
