      Batman promotion has not launched in the AU region yet. Until it does we do not know what cards come with it and what sales periods apply. Edit - if it launches in AU

        I'm done with AMD.. More specifically, AMD drivers have a bug where I cannot play my Oculus Rift and DCS modules ..

          Ah righto, that makes sense then. I thought it was just a performance thing. AMD drivers are dodgy at best unfortunately :(

          It's actually the other way around. It's game devs that aren't coding properly and AMD/Nvidia have to write new drivers to address bugs/performance issues introduced as a result.

          This doesn't change anything of course, just putting it out there. It's the way of the industry (unfortunately).

      Just a heads up, all the 300 cards are rebrands of the 200 series except for the 390x which will be far more expensive than a 970 since it's supposedly meant to rival titan x performance. It's also going to be AMD's flagship model.

      With that being said it's still a rumor and not 110% confirmed, but reliable sites have come out and said it is based upon these rumors.

    So will this card work with an external PCIx16… Holder?
    I have a I7 2640 and 8gb ram Sony Z2.
    They have used mpcl to PCI cable and no issues with GTX 780.
    THis card be bottlenecked by CPU or cache of laptop?

      At 1080p the CPU would bottleneck IMO, even with a 780. 970 isn't significantly faster than a 780 anyway.

        Yeah, I have a 780 and I wouldn't upgrade to a 970. My next upgrade would either be a cheap 980 or the next 3XX.

      Not Sure until some reviews come out. the strix has better cooling for most situations maybe not for SLI?. and higher core and boost clock speeds but it would only translate into a marginal difference.

    What's interesting is that the Turbo only has 1 8 pin power port.. So you might be a bit limited in any OC'ing potential as it's pretty lean on power..

    And 2x 970s is definitely a big improvement over 2x 7970s..

      So does the Strix though? Just compared them on the Asus website, and only real difference I could find is a slightly faster core clock, and the Turbo is a bit shorter.

        Yeah… you're right.. I just can't believe how power efficient these cards are… and how quiet they are..

        Also, this card isn't on the asus Witcher 3 promo site.. so maybe it's going to get the batman/witcher 3 promo after all..
