  There is a new one coming out next month with 320Gb and the networking package for free. Your not really saving anything here….

      some shops, dse for one, have had it advertised at under $600 for a few months now. Tivo were selling the home networking package for $5 the other day and I think and I think they will give it to you for free at the moment with a new purchase, your just getting the nework adapter for effectivly $30 cheaper, but now the 160Gb TIVO are clearance items I'm sure you can save more than this at the store.

  can anyone tell me, why tivo is better than pvr? i still can't figure out. why people buying tivo than just buying pvr.
  with tivo u need internet connection. pvr u don't need it.

    Interface. Tivo is meant to have the best interface and ease of use, no on going subscription fee for EPG etc

        If you're recording shows off free to air TV, that isn't using any download allowance, but there is the option to rent movies etc online, which will use some download quota. If you don't have a decent plan with your ISP then don't rent movies online.

        Downloading the EPG uses next to nothing of your download allowance.

        Tivo is a PVR btw. It's not really a Tivo Vs PVR thing, as they are both the same thing.

  I was looking t it purely for the ability to say I wanted to record a program 'from now on' so I didnt have to program it in weekly

  I think this is a good deal. I set up play tv with a friend today. I dont think it is as good as tivo. He had a 40gb ps3, so he had to buy play tv, and upgrade the hard drive, and buy a portable hard drive to back up the ps3. It has less features than the tivo. New features for tivo on the 1st of December so lets wait and see whats coming.

  New features aren't that exciting just read the email, still I am a TIVO fan.
