The JS400 is made in Vietnam. The LS2160 is made in China
which one would you prefer ??
I bought the JS1400
@Ryder: Could you let me know if this one has twin needle sewing? I checked out both LS2160 and JS1400 and I am unable to make up my mind. LS2160 mentions having 23 stitch functions even though the inbuilt stiches as 14 same as JS1400. LS2160 has twin needle sewing too.
@skyanyan: both have basically the same functionality. In the store I actually saw the toyota ESG325 for the same price which appears to have 24 stitch functions
In all seriousness, cheap brother sewing machines are pretty crappy. It might be alright if you have a pair of light curtains to mend or whatever, but if you're intending on doing much sewing, you'd be wise to give it a miss.
They're selling off a lot of machines at reduced prices this week - would be worth a visit instore to check out what they have.
Hey wow that's pretty cheap, I bought a basic brother back 3 years ago for $150. I would say it's great for general mending but not for serious sewing.
Anyone having problems using the online promo code?
Seems to be glitchy now, even the pdf code 9341222390021
I called them up! They said their IT team is on to it now.
just try again, it will work.
still not working
it worked for me after 3 unsuccessful attempts
my Wife got one now thanks
Just went in store and got one, woman at the checkout nearly fell over when she scanned the voucher and it came to $60
Thanks OP, my wife has been wanting a sewing machine for a while, late Mothers Day present :)
How does it compare to Singer 1412? If I only need to do basic sewing?
How does this compare to Brother JS1400, Spotlight selling it for the same price ($100)
