I'm surprised this deal slipped through the cracks unnoticed, especially since it's been a while since these have been out cheap - perhaps the market is over saturated.

ya, and the AA glitter 8 pack ones were listed as $7.49 yesterday. I tried ordering them with this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/193017 but the whole order got canceled/refunded. Boo.
The product images for the Tropical 8 pack are really tricky.

You will need it with a dumb charger.
No, I guess it's not necessary but it's better for the health of your batteries if you know they are totally flat before recharging.

I checked a few minutes after this went up and there was no stock for C&C anywhere in Sydney. Has anyone ever actually managed to C&C these at a decent price? $8 postage ruins the deal.
Bought 3xaa and 1xaaa, now need a charger deal, the model number of tropical says its a gen4 which is 70% but who cares about the extra 5% At this price, next cheapest was a 16pack from amzon which is $40usd plus delivery
I saw that one, incl shipping and conversion it will cost nearly $30aud to get it here. better wait for a dse deal like last time. But the amzone charger is good though, its a advanced overnight charger, has individual circuits, better than quick charger, they also have individual circuits but quick charge is not good for battery life(quick charger will take nearly 4hrs to charge 4 batteries together)
