EVERDURE E2GO BBQ - Rays Outdoors - $99 down from $269

902

This is a solid portable BBQ and is a bloody good buy at this price, previous best price posted on here was $175.

Now that the majority of butane cookers have been banned this is the way to go. If i didn't already have my Weber Q 2200 I would definitely be jumping on this one! Still considering it….

Had a quick look online and could not find it anywhere near this price elsewhere, reviews seems fairly solid. For $99 you can't go wrong.

  • Does this guy hook up to a regular gas bottle - some of them seem to require special adapters which can be quite expensive

  • According to this http://webbackend.shriro.com.au/images/upload/files/everdure… looks like the Natural Gas adapter is an optional extra so the assumption is that it works off LPG bottles out of the box.

    • Says to use either a 4kg or 8kg bottle in the instructions. Image on website appears to have 2 hoses gas hoses, maybe to suit the different fittings ?

      • +1

I think the image is just one hose coiled up. It would need a different jet size to use natural gas. I'd say new jets and hose would be in the natural gas conversion kit they sell.

        • Yeah I think you are right there! Apologies for the confusion.

  • +2

Wow! This is amazing price. I got it in November 2014 for $193. Very good BBQ.

@faded - mine had only one has hose.

  • Pulled the trigger and bought one, hopefully it's good for $99. :)

  • Excellent price… Was tempted to buy at 169 but couldn't resist now.. already have a Weber so this might just live in the car..

    • +5

mate this weighs 21kg, and then the weight of the cylinder - why ruin your fuel efficiency be leaving this in the car? unless you running a portable kebab/bbq business from your boot :)

      • -2

I think "ruin" is being a bit precious

  • There's nothing mentioned if it comes with combination plate or grill only.

    • Only come with grill. Griddle/flat was $49 extra when I bought mine

      • This says it has a combi grill???
        http://webbackend.shriro.com.au/images/upload/files/everdure…

"Cooking Plates 1 x Comb-e Plate; featuring both griddle and flat plate cooking areas"

        • i think that's a different model.

        • Its the same model I have and only came with 2 grills. Same one is at Costco and it only has 2 grill. Costco price was 349 with Stand

        • @Regie69: I was saying the model linked by killabob is a different model to the one being posted by OP.

        • @JetLi: looks the same to me…how can you tell?

        • @killabob: Check out the Everdure website, they have 2/3 versions of the same grill, only real difference appears to be 1) the grill/hot plate combination and 2) the one you linked to appears to have a proper thermometer whereas the one at rays only has a temp gauge.

        • @JetLi: Was meaning to reply to killabob too. All good. If you can get the griddle plate in thus deal its a unreal bargain

    • I believe from everything online its a grill only and plate is an optional extra

The Everdure E2go includes two cast iron grills with a matt vitreous enamel finish. These grills as designed to drain away excess fats for healthier results. Apart from providing you with healthier grilling, this superior design makes cleaning as easy as throwing away one disposable drip tray. Also available as an optional extra is a cast iron half hotplate, great for cooking eggs, pancakes, onions, calamari and other foods that can fall through the grill. You can use one half hotplate in place of a half grill, or purchase two optional half hotplates to convert as required to a full hotplate model.

Also the stand for this is another $120-150

      • The Ray's email containing this deal also said the stand could be bought in-store for $45. It cannot be bought through the website. I rang our local store and have had one put aside so I can pick it up this evening.

        • +4

If anyone is interested in getting the stand for $45, it is mentioned in the link below
          http://view.e.raysoutdoors.com.au/?j=fec41d737065067a&m=fe93…

I decided to stop past Bunnings on the way to Ray's outdoors to collect the stand, saw that Bunnings had 2 in stock and got them to price match. Final price was $40.50. I also asked them to price match Ray's on the 9kg Gasmate bottle so picked that up for $22.04.

        • @spockter: What material is the stand made of? In the pictures I found I can't tell whether it is plastic or metal.

        • +1

          @team teri: Metal

  • Seems only option is to get it delivered as all stores in sydney show out of stock

    • Postage is only $7.95 for my postcode not sure on others, my local has stock though, seems to be a 50/50 thing in Perth.

  • +3

good price on the cobb pro too at $69….. http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Cobb-Pr…

    • Worth a deal on its own??

      • Worth a deal on its own??

Go for it…. I don't post deals on here any more

        • +2

How that, did you get annoyed by all the negativity? Lots of rudeness around lately, I wonder what changed, the web was a much more friendly place a few years ago.

        • @team teri:

pretty much, although the negging system allows that negativity to flourish….
There's plenty of people who don't post anymore because of it

        • -4

@andy19363: Simple resolution. Don't post neg-worth deals or comments.

        • @johnno07:
I don't have any problem with negged comments, (although I don't really see the point of it).
The system for negging deals is flawed and has been for years…. it's just easier not to post

        • -1

          @johnno07: Touche, voters. Touche.

    • is the cobb any good? I need something for steaks without using my main gas BBQ with better flavour

      • Been a long time since I used one as it disappeared after camping a few years back. it does nice moist roast

  • Good barbee and excellent for that price.

  • +1

I have one of these.Bought it about two year ago. Paid $399 with stand and flat plate as it only comes with grill. Its an excellent bbq can fit a rather large roast and sausages come out awesome. I have a 6burner that now never gets used thanks to this.
Uses normal 9kg bottle and the stand has a hole for it to sit in.

  • This does look like a Weber knock-off. Does it perform as good or nearly as good as the Weber?

    • Yeah I was thinking that…like a poor man's Weber imitation…

    • imo weber cooks better (I have the e2go, mates have the weber. I have no complaints about e2go though)

      • +1

you can always sell this on ebay, then buy a weber

  • +1

I have a Weber Baby Q which haven't seen any use since I bought this. Can't be beat at this price.

    • You rate this over the Q !? What do you prefer, maybe I will have to grab one.

      • Well over the baby Q at least. This is bigger and can cook bigger food. The side boards on the e2go has compartments and are sturdier than the Q200. Its frugal on gas just liket the weber. Only con I can say is that this might not be good if you'll be using it in a windy area.

        • Yeah I went the Q2200 for the bigger lid and thermometer so I can do the bigger roasts etc. the side boards on the Weber are definitely a let down, very flimsy.

    • Thats really interesting jobski.
I have the BabyQ too and I reckon its a bit overrated for the reasons you stated.
One thing that annoys me is the handles are exactly where all the steam/oily grease gets out so they are sticky with oil. Looks good but impractical handle design.

  • Out of stock in all Perth stores.

    • +1

$7.95 delivery is not bad at all, or try Mandurah

  • Damn you ozbargain . My credit card is aching .

But im sure this will save me money in the long run

    • Haha easternculture, cancel your OzBargain membership and let your credit card recovers :P

      • when i reach 5000 posts, ill consider that lol

oh, and i just noted that my next comment will be a quad digit number 7777

  • I can't seem to find a price anywhere online for the natural gas conversion kit. Any idea what to expect?

  • Thanks OP, I just bought it

    • Hmmmm…. I've just received an email. They do not have the stock to satisfy my order, so are offering me Gasmate Rio Portable BBQ. Now to decide if it is worth the $99…. It does have a stand with it, and is worth $299 on their site

      • yeh got the same email. seemed like a good deal to me so i have accepted.

  • ….. not another deal. So badly want this. I hear voices in my head to buy it!

  • Any where to get a trolley/stand at a good price? Ray's have the Everdure Neo Buddy Stand for $29 but would it fit the E2GO? I can't find an E2GO stand on the site.

    • +1

I was on the phone with them a moment ago and they told me they had the stand on sale for $45. I can't seem to find it on their site though.

    • Went into store and they had the Excursion stand there for $45. So the missus bought that as well. The frame that separates the legs at the bottom is shaped to take a gas bottle.

  • +1

    Will this fit THIS BBQ??

    http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Everdur…

    Does anyone no?

    • Yes pls…anyone? Will this trolley work?

  • Thanks got one. Click and collect in Cairns.

    • And the trolley for $45 when I picked it up.

  • Excursion stand is $45 in store, picking one up tonight.
Its not listed on the website and they're usually $119+ in other stores

    • Hope you put a hold on the stand. They are popular too.

      • Hehe thanks yeah I did when he told me there were only 3 of them, 1 being a display. Just picked it up. Seems like a pretty good stand and dare I say better than the weber trolley I was previously holding out for. Will have to wait and see how the bbq performs

        • Guessing this is Lidcombe? Got one of the 3 too.

        • Maybe Campbelltown. Got one of the 3 available too!!

  • Anyone else think it looks like a UFO of some sort? lol

  • PLease don't let this be a price error!!!

    • It isn't. $99 price tag in store. But they are almost gone if not gone already. I had 4 stores available for click and collect but by the time we decided to get it, only 1 store had stock and it was the display model.

      • i was half joking but been burnt before. I bought one for pick up @ Brighton store.. hopefuly they done cancel my order cos no stock all of a sudden.. hate wen that happen

  • +1

Can you still buy those little butane carts? Or are they banned?

  • Went to my local and picked the stand for $45.

  • I had to pay for delivery, but it was the same delivery price for 2, so I stocked up :D

  • I found the flat plate for $39 at Tentworld if anyone needs one.
    http://www.tentworld.com.au/products/cooking/item/everdure-e…

  • Person I spoke to at the local store didn't have any stock left but said they have been on sale for 5 weeks.

  • Ordered two, same postage, nice work!

  • If I ordered one on click and collect and it said stock available.. will they put the item on hold for my order or are they assholes and sell them to whoever comes it to the store and resort to cancelling orders when they run out of stock for online orders?

    • They did the same with mine. I called the store to check stock and was told, yes we have them.

I then placed an online order (paid) for one, and waited. Received a call an hour later, saying sorry someone else called and placed it on-hold…

For some reason they took my money, but placed stock on-hold for someone who had only called them…

In the end the other party didn't show up to pickup, so I ended up getting it and the stand…

The staff need better training processes to ensure they hold on to stock that has been sold & paid for..

Anyone got a scan of the reciept for the stand. I want to try price match at Bunnings.

    • Would like this too. I think the stand is definitely needed for my balcony.

    • +3

Couldnt figure out how to insert a pic so receipt uploaded here…
      http://i57.tinypic.com/x6bsxg.jpg

    • +2

I got Bunnings to price match the stand ($40.50) using the Ray's outdoor email which you can view in browser.

See the link in my comment above.

Got the BBQ grill and stand for $129 at Bunnings. Here's a pic of the receipt.

      • +1

I was going the bunnings route as well - but the Everdure e2go doesn't show on their website (only the stand)

Maybe I'll do a ring around in the morning

        • i'll do the same too hiihih :)

      • Good work! True OzB'er right there.

  • Thanks to OP for the post and to all those who posted that delivery is the same for buying two. Got one for my bro and myself.

  • what do you mean butane cookers are banned?

    • +1

Recent thing, the vast majority have been taken off the shelves. Hopefully it's not permanent and they don't stop selling the cannisters, I have a U-Bute and another dual burner butane cooker here too.

      http://www.elgas.com.au/blog/1419-nsw-bans-portable-butane-s…

      • thanks. my wife was at a parents meeting tonight working out details of our kids 96km hikes and she was going to buy a couple of these cheap bbqs. looks like something else will be needed.

      • Hopefully it's not permanent and they don't stop selling the cannisters

ive stocked up on the cannisters from the free SCA credits. i now have 40 X 4 packs which should last me a lifetime and would be worth gold if a mass extinction event occurs anytime in the future lol

im getting some Butane burners as spares from the US soon
